This was probably my most ambitious cover so far. After knowing Rage for around five years, I finally flew up to his hometown in Louisville, KY to visit him! While I was there, we shot this video, along with another one that will appear on his own channel. 😉
Shooting this video was an awesome experience. Considering it's my first time shooting something for this channel, I think it went pretty well! We recorded everything outside of JCTC. It wasn't a busy school day, so we basically had the whole area to us. I actually don't have the links for the artists behind the pieces in the backgrounds, but I will credit them if I can find them!
T.O.P is a banger, and it's a shame that it doesn't get much love. In fact, all of the Sonic X Japanese songs slap! This probably won't be the only one I do, haha. Fun fact: while adapting the lyrics, I made sure to keep the exact same rhyme scheme throughout. Usually, JP songs don't really rhyme, but this one does since it's rap. I wanted to stay true to what the songwriters came up with. I also kept the same phonetics at the end of each line (except for one stanza). Adapting the lyrics was quite the challenge, but I managed to pull through!
Finally, much love to Ikanaide for working with me on the instrumental and mix. I threw way too many feedback points at him during production, and he is a total champ for heeding all of them LOL. Go commission him for your projects - his work is affordable and high quality!
