People hated the autotune sound, and felt that Tpain was the perpetrator, even thought autotune is a modern version of an old effect used on vocals since the 1970s. He seems very friendly and jolly and i understand that Usher's comment can be hurtful bec it is the truth however, he should also be mindful that he went the "dumb and trendy" way even if he has legit talent and this opens him up to criticism. He should have explained himself or just ignore the comment since he knows the truth. There is really nothing to be depressed about. It's like if you burn food and your parent says "hey you burned the food." vs "You are a bad cook." Usher told him that he burned the food because it was true. T-Pain did some stuff that adversely affected the music industry and he is still paying the consequences of his actions by not being considered a real singer.

Man I have such good memories when I think of t pain. Life was simple, grandparents were here, I was hitting home runs on the baseball field, my grades were actually good, everything was just so simple and good. T pain has brought all of us so much joy. It saddens me to hear about this, but we all go through it.

As much as I once respected Usher, this was so wrong of him to say. If anything T-pain changed the game and Usher's time was pretty much coming to a close in the mainstream. Man found his niche at a time when everyone was doing the same thing and, as he said, it made him stand out. Smh. All of this feels like the kinda thing a fair weather "friend" would say when all this time they've had the spotlight and, the moment their "friend" sees success, they need to tear them down.

TPain has such a talented voice without the auto-tune. When he added auto-tune, it was his touch, his “it” factor that made his music catch on. Mariah has her high pitch notes. Usher has his exceptional dance skills and nice voice. That’s their “it” factor. Every artist needs an “it” factor, or else they are just another singer, dancer, etc. TPain realized auto-tune was not done previously and took advantage of that. Don’t be mad at that instead applaud. It bothered Jay so much that he dedicated a song to it. 🤣 TPain was a pioneer in my opinion.

My mom, who passed in sept. Of 2020 at 60, was the first person who introduced me to t-pain. She loved everything about him and I've always thought she should have worked to find artists because she also introduced me to, for example, plies and ludacris when they first came out she knew they were gonna be great, but I digress...being from Florida and attending FSU in Tallahassee back 2003, t pain was a hometown hero and loved and after hearing his real voice it just hit me again how right my mom was! I love u mom! Everything u taught me I carry with me every day! I just wish I could have understood things better while u were still here!😔😥
