Rex fans crying for 20 years

Thanks to the new discoveries regarding Spinosaurus I think the answer is more clear As far as i know spinosaurus only prey on fish and aquatic animals, so it means that it would never have the need to fight a t rex But if they did fight i think the t rex has the upper hand, its way more bulkier and its jaws were stronger

@@JosephFlores-yn4yi Carcharodontosaurus and Spinosaurus often butted heads over both territory and food, if spinosaurus was having no luck else where. I don’t see why if we replaced cacharo with T. rex, the same thing wouldn’t happen.

If that hypothetical scenario ever happened, and considering the evidence we have on both T-Rex and Spinosaurus, realistically speaking the T-Rex would kill the Spinosaurus.

Fun fact: Spino in ark has lower health than rex (spino has base 700 and rex has base 1100) but spino deal more damage than rex Here I fixed it. Also spino has more health than allo (spino base 700, allo base 630) Spino base primary attack is 40 and secondary attack is 60, but rex damage is 62. But spino attacks faster so it gives more damage and does more knockback

I think people are more upset at the fact that the movies/series or even the media in some cases severely UNDERESTIMATE just how powerful Tyrannosaurus Rex really was... Realistically speaking most of the odds are in its favor against even the biggest therapods but oh people can't seem to accept that so they rather nerf T-Rex instead to give the spotlight to some other big carnivore because what better way to prove that a carnivore is cool other than to humiliate or compare it T-Rex instead of focusing on what makes the carnivore great on itself... I know i'll probably get a bunch of retarded people shouting "t-rEx fAnBoY" without even trying to disprove my point or have a civilized discussion, but it's not fanboyism guys, it's actual evidence, not for nothing T-Rex means "King of the Tyrant Lizards", I have no issue with Spino or Giga killing T-Rex in the movies because at the end of the day it's fiction and not trying to be scientifically accurate in the slightest, but disgracing the actual animal by thinking that it would've lost all the time against other carnivores in real life as portrayed in the movies is wrong.

Any Spino enjoyer will tell you that the scene is wrong, but still enjoyable nevertheless (Me included grew up watching that scene and JP3 holds a special place in my heart), the problem comes when people take that scene as trustful evidence to claim that the Spino was more powerful, it shouldn't be seen as more than a fun scene from a sci-fi movie that is defintely outdated and is not trying to be scientifically accurate in any way.

Spino was Kinda bloody personally I always main spino in the isle, I have access to hypo spino aswell sometimes, my friends a dev, I usually don't use hypo alot, take most of the challenge away when you can pretty much 1-2 shot everything

We can't say with 100% certainty. They were both evolved to suit their natural environments, and they were just wild animals and not scripted code like in the video games; their battles would've been much more complicated. The Spinosaurus had a massive sail which could've worked as a deterrent, rather scaring the Rex away than actually engaging in a battle. As it was taller than the Rex due to the sail, and a body length of 14-18 meters it was much longer than the Rex. In reality they never would've faced, the T-Rex lived in North America, and the Spinosaurus in Africa. Yes the Rex was impressive, decent brain to body ratio, binocular vision, a bite force of 12,800 psi and conical teeth made for crushing. The spinosaurus was equally as impressive, a bite force of 4,000 psi (Significantly lower than the Rex, but still devastating enough to insta kill anything it catches) arms and claws it could actually use in combat, and possessing a weight advantage over the Rex, weighing as much as 13-22 tons whereas the Rex weighed about 8 tons. (Using Britannica as a source.) Again, while the Rex does have it's advantages, it dominated in land combat mainly against prey such as Triceratops, Edmontosaurus and stuff like that. They have considerable combat experience due to cranial facial biting found on fossils, it's believed they fought each other for territory or dominance. The Spinosaurus had it's own share of experience, often facing off against Carcharadontosaurus and grappling with giant prehistoric crocodiles. The Spinosaurus was equipped to fight in amphibious regions, like swamps, rivers, lakes, or even oceans - As we know Saltwater Crocodiles can swim in both fresh and salt water, so it's not a stretch to assume Spinosaurus may have roamed in all bodies of water if given the opportunity. With the weight advantage, the Spinosaurus would have the advantage in bodies of water. Then again, plenty of Spinosaurus fossils were wrecked during the world wars so we do not have enough complete specimens to determine just how and what the Spinosaurus was, as it's constantly changing. Tldr: Nobody is 100% sure, we only have our favourites. However because they were both wild animals and not predetermined characters, they both have a decent shot at beating each other. Even if they don't fight, chances are the Rex wouldn't engage the Spinosaurus due to the large sail acting as a deterrent. (See real life examples of body parts being used to scare away predators.) @@hidanoftheakatsuki1268 After reading you whole essay, I discovered that your information is severly outdated. Spinosaurus did not weigh up to 22 tons (6-7 tons was its average). Spinosaurus can walk on two legs but not for long, compare it to a human walking on one leg. Therefore it was not taller than the rex due to the way it stood (it held its head low to the ground so that it would ambush its prey underwater while standing on all fours). Just search about the new spinosaurus to gather more info. I got this info from paleontologist DR. Nizar Ibrahim on a reddit qna that was held in 2021 (just search up Dr Nizar Ibrahim reddit on google, I can't provide the link for some reason.)

You are correct, the source I used was not entirely verified and was indeed from a student studying natural science in a Californian university. Britannica is an otherwise trusted source so I assumed it was correct without paying a whole heap of attention to it - Thanks for that! However I will still stick to my guns whilst regarding how the Spinosaurus went about its day and in what posture. I found the QnA you mentioned on Reddit and I have glossed over some key answers he gave, Dr Ibrahim also mentioned that Spinosaurus will most likely change with new fossil discoveries, and current sample sizes are small so everything is purely speculative. The spinosaurus definitely would've kept its head low when hunting for sawfish and other little critters in the water, however its ability to stand on hind legs plays a vital role in its survival; sure it might not have been able to walk on two legs for a great deal of time but I believe the reason it is able to even stand upright is to avoid large crocodiles it may had to have contended with. As we all know, modern crocodiles can have a bite force of up to 3,700 psi, like in the case of the Mugger Crocodile - Almost as much as the Spinosaurus. With crocodiles being much larger back in those times, a surprise attack to the throat would've seriously ruined a Spino's day for real. Thus the adaptive countermeasure, so I believe its max height of 7 meters should still be valid as it is in the Predator's abilities to stand tall, even if it is to defend itself. Not to mention the spine is a vital part of its body and should definitely add to height as it's not something like hair for instance. I might've rambled on in this response, but I tried to keep it relevant to your reply. It is 2:30 am here and I really dropped the ball with my sleep schedule lmaoo.
