For some of us over 60 and semi-retired one of the greatest challenges is keeping yourself busy and not getting bored. Some of the ways we did relaxation, personal time and leisure may not be an option in some African countries. So what I do now is simply travel around Africa, the high cost of inter African travel not withstanding.

Traveling Sista!!! Ya'll making me cry. The impetus to do something with your own hands and mind. Powerful. Soon return. And Mama T3 is correct. My biggest struggle in TZ was unwell AA's. Not all of us are in kumbaya mode.

This is why I like Traveling Sista, and the people she hangs out with. Keeping it real, and letting you know $5k or $10K is only going to last you 6-12 months, and that you will probably not be gaining employment in Africa, and if so it's probably not going to afford the lifestyle you want, because a lot of African countries' monthly income is less than $1000, for almost ALL professions. Many African presidents make less than $50K a year. Let that sink in. As they said, you'll need to be an entrepreneur, find some remote work getting paid Western currency, or something to create a stream of income.

NO, not almost all professions, that's incorrect. I live and work in TZ, so I can confirm that.

@@fionaslife I've posted another comment with salary information that I've found. If you have other information that contradicts this, please by all means enlighten us, by sharing that information on which industries, skillsets, or companies are paying above $1000 USD so those of us who qualify can apply for these positions.

@@fionaslife I was finally able to post some salary content that KZfaq hasn't deleted so far. What I found for TZ is that the high is $2413 USD and the average is $513 USD. I haven't added TZ to my post yet, bc I think KZfaq will flag it again.

@@angrybritches1854 thanks for the salary info. African politicians earn way more what their USA 🇺🇸 and other western counterparts earn maam 😂! The kind of benefits and power that they have is also insane! That $50k you mentioned if it’s indeed quoted is a FAKE (cooked number)! That said, jobs are scarce and the few that are available pay little - reason for Africa’s chronic brain drain for the last 5 decades (since “independence”). We should note that dollars in Africa obviously go along way and without welfare programs in Africa, people still hustle and manage to build, rent, educate kids, hustle (businesses). Also people have small farm so save on food and rent especially in rural areas.

@@africanglobalnomadYou're welcome. "I am a boy, Damon!". We're trying to spread truth, so if you have a source for presidential salaries, please share. Of course all political positions are segways into greased palms, and "salary" is just one component of their income. I just went & looked again. I'll stand by "many presidents make $50k or less", but I'll let you share your resources first. If you want to be fair, you can give a list of presidential salaries for countries considered to have a stable government, since that's where most from the diaspora are moving to.

Wonderful show!! Wish I knew about this before....Found out from my Homeopathic doctor (former oncologist) in Jamaica recently....I went through all the menstrual cramping, cancer, etcetera because my body lacked iodine....Learned a little too late....Blessed bc I am still here and the Most High has led me to wellness over the years.

You guys are real! If you can do introspection and realise that PTSD, and work away from it, you are real. And you will have it easier re-integrating yourselves in here. May you continue growing in this direction because I have a feeling that you will be the trail blazers that will help others find their direction as they return.

I love what I see, what I hear! And want to learn so much more! Moving to Africa is my biggest dream that I WILL make a reality! I have a question? What advice would you all give to those of us wanting to repatriate back to Africa but we have grown children with our grandkids who don’t like the idea of us leaving them and our grandkids to come there and live. Also they don’t want to come to Africa themselves 😢 like what are some advices about dealing with that and how to overcome the hurdles of hurt and Missing your loved ones once you leave the good old Babylon?
