I think every tekken player enjoy watching hwoarang players lose. Even tho I know you have to know how to play with hwoarang…… I believe they all mash. Just my theory. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Genuine question. Why at this level do they not wall carry combo once they get the launch? I understand kbowledge checking and pokes but once they get the launch very rarely will they go for a big combo but rather short heavy hitting 3/4 hits. Dropping a 75dmg combo at 50dmg is still better than 35dmg from 3 hits. I dont get it

idk about hwoa, but with ling there are lots of times you intentionally "whiff" the combo to bait the oki, having a oki launcher in your mind. This way, instead of getting 80 dmg from a combo you are getting 50 dmg from first + 70 dmg from second if you success

So coming from a Xiaoyu player like others have said it’s strategic, to bait you to do something or get up a certain way and relaunch. After launching and going into a combo, some moves put the opponent in a good oki position. Face down feet towards you, which is scary against Ling

As someone who played tekken and fighting games at high levels and tournaments, what seems like a mashfest to you is actually people with knowledge using good attacks which are hard to punish. And unlike 2D fighting games, here it's way harder due to the fact that the opponent can't only duck or jump or backdash or parry/reversal, but also side step. But, as always in life, lack of knowledge and understanding leads to lack of appreciation.
