In an interesting turn of events, Gurucharan Singh returned home safely on the morning of 17th May 2024 after almost 2 weeks of being missing. During the interrogation, Singh told Delhi Police that he had embarked on a “religious journey”, leaving his “worldly life” behind. He visited & lived in Gurudwaras in several cities including Amritsar & Ludhiana before releasing that he should return home. He recorded his statement before a magistrate also. Gurucharan’s sudden return is as shocking as his missing. Still, many questions remain that need to be answered like, why did Singh change his plans to visit Mumbai last minute? What proved this sudden religious journey? Why didn’t he inform his family about it? Why did he switch off his phone? Was he aware of people considering him missing and him making headlines? And, if yes, why didn’t he inform his family or Delhi Police about his whereabouts? What happened that prompted Singh to return home? Gurucharan’s sudden return suggests the whole incident to be a carefully planned publicity stunt.
