My vintage bottle of Fath Pour L'homme looks a bit different, but the smell is even richer. I've tested both, and there really isn't THAT much between the two, but it's such a stunning one for the fall. If ever there was a way to do syrupy sweetness RIGHT, Pour L'homme would be it. Didn't appreciate it when I first got it, but it certainly grew on me over time.

Hi Stephen! Great video. Here the information about the story behind Alt Innsbruck and the story behind 66-60: this information has to do with the invention of Alt Innsbruck. Behind this is a special pharmaceutical manufacturing process or mixing ratio: In 2 liters of water-in-oil emulsion are 66 parts of oil and 60 parts of water. The remaining substances are u.a. Alcohol and menthol. Therefore 66-60. The name has become synonymous with the whole product range.

I REALLY wish people would stop saying that fresh fragrances are obviously worn in the summer and warm fragrances in the winter, as if it is indisputably factually correct and only the insane would do otherwise. Where I live it is cold and dark and depressing in the winter and I need something bracing and enlivening. In the summer, when it is warm and I am flooded with sunlight, I need something calming and relaxing to sooth my overenergized soul.

Not sure which one you've got there since there are number of those white bottles with eau de cologne concentration but my nostalgic pick is Tabac, launched in 1959. Steven, great videos! I watch them because I have this new "hobby" with perfumes, but I have to ask this. There are many good perfumes, but I used a few years ago Zara Man Gold - which now is nowhere to be found, they don't have a plan to bring it back anytime soon. What perfume is similar to this, do you have any ideas? Man Gold was very sweet (pralines I think) and warm, I found a few saying that Black XS is similar but not to me. This is the first time when I want to buy something good that smells like a cheap one, but I really liked it.

Is it just me or did Steven kind of steer away from dude's comment about that Turkish tobacco water being niche quality if someone smelled it (12:34)? I think Steven secretly thought dude went over the top saying that. I could be wrong tho.

When David is describing green tobacco leaves, does that scent have any similarity to the unlit pipe-tobacco that I have smelt my grandpa open from his tobacco tin or is it something different?
@Redolessence
@Redolessence 4 жыл бұрын
I think the green tobacco leaves have more of an herbal smell.

Very good review. Classic or traditional fragances are the best. Is the smell and longevity of tabac original the same than the old or vintage formulas by Maurer & Writz ?. Thank you
@Redolessence

I would say that the longevity is different since the reformulation, unfortunately.

He left out that there's also a stronger Tabac edt with slightly different notes and a few very famous young Englishmen enjoyed the brand in the early 1960's, especially their lead guitarist: i.imgur.com/poJEmoY.jpg The shaving soap is among the best there is for us wet shavers.
