A retired table makes for a nice skipping surface for discs! Really trying to come up with some fun stuff and hopefully more ideas start rolling in!

Simon your optimism never ends. Luv your imagination and perseverance no matter what happens. Today when your table broke and were like, "well now I have a ramp" you just adapted, went with it and tried ta have fun with it. We can all learn from that type of attitude.

Your videos are the most fun to watch. When you get an ND filter, fork out a few more bucks and get a microphone wind filter. No-one seems to use them which is crazy since the wind noise detracts from a good chunk of videos. Keep up the good work Simon and real keen to see your crack at the "Parked Challenge"!

I don't care that it was a short vid, it was still dope ! Every time something new, and every time those new things are amazing ideas. This is what "thinking outside the box" means, not just change the distance or use different disc, you bring new props, do trickshots, throw while ice skating, make mini courses and so much more. Add to that great production value, humor, personality, guests... like dude, seriously this is the best vlog I've seen, not just disc golf related. Oh btw, shot of the day is another slam dunk of an idea, very cool to watch !

My general rule of thumb when passing a frisbee off the ground is aim for 1/3 the distance between your target. So probably easier to do the table closer.
@chrispreperato55624 жыл бұрын
ND Filters for Simon. So, since I know you have multiple lenses, let me hand you a tip. Get one ND filter that fits the largest filter size of your lenses (for example, that 10-18mm lens is 62mm, that's probably your largest?) and then use step-up rings to fit it to other lenses. So if one is 46mm or 52mm, you get a metal ring that changes it from 46->62mm then use that one filter. Ive had good luck with K&F and ICE filters (both easily findable on Amazon). My ICE ND1000 is good for really bright days where I want to bring my shutter speed down to the 1/50th and 1/100th range.
@chrispreperato55624 жыл бұрын
As for using it, if you're doing slow-mo montages, you wont need it. Likewise anything but a blue-sky kind of day. However, when you are doing your intros/outros, if you dont want to be filming those at 1/1000+ of a second shutter speed, then they can be valuable. Although, with a wide angle lens, if they arent slim, they risk adding some vignette to the corners of the lens. I generally find something like an ND16 (4-stops less) or ND32 (5-stops less) filter useful to have for bright days, just in case. Beyond that, the type of filming you generally do, you wont need it much in the woods, etc.

@jackgreene4914 жыл бұрын
Hi simon. The camera footage looks great! What effect are you looking for with the ND filter? The same effect of an ND filter can be achieved with in camera adjustments (close the aperture, shorten the shutter speed, or decrease the ISO) . Typically ND filters are used in photography, rather than videography, to achieve much longer exposure times than otherwise possible.
