Only players know how hard it is to control a 2.7gm plastic ball with incredibly/countless types of spins. On top of that, there are so many different styles of play plus never-ending rubbers/blades upgrades. It's like a damn serious sport followed/adored by lots of TT lovers around the world.

@@trashgamedev5730 Table tennis is one of the easiest games for beginners to play, hit a 3-gram ball on a table, simple right? Because of this, many play it as a hobby but it is the arguably hardest sport to master. At the top level, it becomes a chess game at the speed of light.

Many of these are just normal long range rallies, but the one on 9:31 is pretty insane because of the way the attacker is switching up the spin.

love the thumbs up after winning the point at 2:54 talent recognize talent and that was one hell of a rally. edit...also the save by Ma Lin even had the other team cheering! Miss the comradery at the pro level, everyone is so serious nowadays even after having an amazing rally. i love how Ma Long/Xu Xin/ZJK/Boll are half the highlights :D

table tennis misses 2 main characteristics of a sport, namely strength and endurance. However there are many sports that miss a few characteristics of sports. Thats why i love soccer, it has got it all.

Someone is a fan of Stephane Ouaiche. I don't blame you. He was my favorite to watch for a solid year and a half around 2014. I even modeled my game after him for a while, albeit I played right-handed.

K. Emil I feel like he was at his best when he was playing U21 events. I don’t think he developed very much after he turned 20. I thought playing in the Chinese Super League that one year would help him. Sadly, he didn’t take much from that experience.

To be a "true" sport the contest must be constructed in such a way that there is a "defense" to the player or team that is playing. Many contest described as "sports" are actually just skills competitions. If you have no way of legally defending (interfering) with an opponent's play, it is NOT a "sport". Golf, bowling and archery are not sports, since there is no defense. In golf you are playing the course and the weather. In bowling you are playing against the lane conditions. Archery is a skill of hitting targets. Auto racing is kind of blurry because you can somewhat interfere with other drivers with position on the track. Drag racing is not sport, but rather driving skills and better tuned engines. Track and field are not sports, but rather a competition of skills and training. Table tennis at this skill level is definitely a sport and is fantastic to watch. How does the ball find the table on these long distance shots is beyond me.

@@michabraaksma1383 Mental at least. You can't go into any sport without a plan. If you do you'll lose to those that do have a plan unless you're wildly more talented than them. Then it isn't a competition and everything would be decided from seeding. If the first seeded team won always whats the point in playing. This isn't even including the emotion that can go into sports, the preparation, and the willpower. It's a human game, it's more than just being bigger better faster stronger.

@@lupinektj2002 Im not trying to be mean or anything like that, but clearly you do not play table tennis. If you look at the speed of the ball there, not only do you have to get it back on the table, but you have to do it in a way that wont let your opponent immediately win. It requires soooooooo much precision just to get that ball back on the table. Not only that, a lot of players have very many different play styles so of course you always have to do research and plan on a strategy for your opponent, and if you can't plan, then you have to practice playing against each of the many different play styles in table tennis which of course is very difficult
