About the 1st question, you can train to improve your weakness, but it'll almost always be weaker than your strength. Take Ma Long, for example. He used to use mostly FH. As the years passed, he increasingly used BH. He obviously trained his BH more because he realized that to get better at the game, he required his BH more often. And now, he uses both sides quite well. But in his recent match against Fan Zendong, the announcer Adam Bobrow mentioned that Ma Long generally avoids BH to BH exchanges w/ Fan because Fan's BH is much stronger than Long's. So, even though Long has dramatically improved his basic BH shot, and even though his BH is 1,000 times better than most pro players, his BH is still one of the weakest points of his game. It is for that reason that he mostly works on combinations that favor his FH.

Very high-level coaching, good to see that kind of coaching on KZfaq instead always aimed at very low level. However, sadly, the people there were not good enough for this.

The thing is most people who are high level either know this or get coaching or help already which is why you udsualy find beginner to intermediates in those classes or the KZfaq content is mostly targeted at them.
