Learn how to create a gorgeous trim, strap or belt with the ancient craft of tablet weaving.
The threading for the cards if you want to follow along is:
S threaded cards:
Card 1 - Blue - A and D. White- B and C.
Card 2 - Blue - A and B. White - C and D
Card 3 - Blue - B and C. White - A and D
Card 4 - Blue - C and D. White - A and B
Z threaded cards
Card 5 - Blue - C and D. White - A and B Card
6 - Blue - B and C. White - A and D Card
7 - Blue - A and B. White - C and D Card
8 - Blue - A and D. White- B and C.

I followed the setting up for cards 1-2-3 but you did not show no. 4 I assumed 5-6-7-8 area mirror of the first 4

The cardboard coasters from bars, work just as well, and if you ask nicely, sometimes you can get a stack of them for nothing.

Thank you for this great tutorial :D I've just come home after a weekend at a medieval fair and want to start making medieval clothes for myself with a neat trim, so this is just what I need to get started --aside from the actual loom, tablets and yarn xD

Best z and s explanation and example yet! I'd been threading away from me instead of towards me. This could be the solution to every pattern being underneath when I start weaving. Going to thread up right now.

I would just use my shuttle to “beat” down the shed, as there’s less friction on the warp which causes less pilling and your not having to slide the cards up and down all the time. Quicker process and progress. Also, use lollipop sticks in a couple of sheds to give you something to beat up to, makes a neater start. X

WOW - this is very time consuming setting up just 8 cards like this - I was curious about how this is done, but after watching how you do it, I don't think I am very interested in actually doing it - Thanks for taking the time to show how it is done
