Took about 15 seconds in my head. Yeah, a long time, but it's nearly 2:00am. Using the QE is not necessary. A quick factoring gives x(2x+1)=0, which in turn gives the answers as x={-½,0}, since either factor can be solved independently as being equal to zero.

At 9.07 you say that a quadratic equation will always have two solutions. Wrong. Example: x^2=0 or (x-7)^2=0 And what is not the case is that we have two solutions here.. Because in math that's not how we talk about "two solutions". Any value that changes an equation into an equality is a solution of the equation. That's why x^2=0 has only one solution because 0 is the only value that makes an equality from the equation. In math we often use a set to indicate the solutions. The set for x^2=0 is {0}. and of course not {0, 0}. So if you say that every quadratic equation has two solutions, you are wrong in that.
