Great to see you making content again man. Hey, the very last part where you modulate an input based is the most important part imho, and has countless uses for sound design. Probably not everyone knows that the grid won't let you connect an output back to something earlier in the chain without using a long delay at it's minimum setting of 0.02ms. As I'm sure you know, at audio rates a delay of that length makes it really hard if impossible to build a bunch of circuits. Like you, I also stumbled on the fact that modulators let you do this feedback thing with what appears to be almost zero latency. If you subtract the feed back signal from the original using a long delay you get significant ripple when displayed on an oscilloscope. Try doing the same thing using the modulator feedback. You get a flat line! For example, just for fun, take the default grid and modulate the pitch offset of the oscillator with the modulation output of the envelope generator, and then muck around with the shape of the envelope. Hey presto, instant "The Clangers" effect.. better call the Soup Dragon 😀 If you use a wavetable oscillator, it's fun to modulate the Index parameter with the ouput of envelope too ;-) Again, great video and always look forward to them. 🎹
