Answering some questions and pm's that I have received regarding the Tsurinoya(Trulinoya) baitfinesse(BFS) rods that I have used in my videos. These rods serve as good rod options for those just starting out in fishing or those who want to explore different genres of fishing while also having access to budget tackle that is not terrible.

I'm eating a late lunch in between tearing down a crap ton of reels and filming...got about half way through Great Stuff!!!! I think it's worth mentioning...If people truly knew the actual cost of their fishing rods coming out of china...they'd be sick....Multiply x 10....and in some cases...even more! (x 10 is kinda what it takes to sustain a relatively large scale business) Seeing the prices of items coming out of the chinese trade shows is mind boggling.....Fyi..i saw your responsses come up the other day...just been a bit distracted to reply. And yeah..usually I get the initial comment...but after i reply. Often i don't get notifications of subsequent responses.

Recent Aussie subscriber here. Have to say I'm loving your videos. You're very informative and you've inspired me to venture into the BFS world I hadn't even heard about before your videos. I've just received my Ray's spool for my Tatula CT and since watching this particular video and a little more research after, I've ordered myself the Proflex II. I may look into ceramic spool bearing but the Tatula bearings are pretty good. I think after a good clean and a tiny bit of oil, they'll be even better! It makes sense for my style of fishing as I mainly use light minnows and top water lures with light finesse spinning gear, but I love using the Baitcaster as much as I can, but I struggle with over run and losing lures mid flight from time to time. Keep up the good work and I hope your council wakes up and reopens Pandan because it looks like a great spot.

Recently came across your channel, you are definitely the finesse king! Never even knew any of these rods and affordable reels on your other videos even existed. Finesse tackle is within reasonable reach for me with every one of your videos i watch. Thx man, its expensive in the States for finesse stuff, especially for the average folk.

Just wanted to mention that you have the best informational channel on bfs fishing on KZfaq, period. I have a couple of other ones that I frequent that I find are very informative on bfs also, but this is the most honest and stripped down information out there. I am not currently bfs fishing, but am going to be getting into it soon. I am at the moment trying to absorb as much knowledge about it as I can before I start investing into equipment for it. I will be doing it all with budget equipment, so trying to figure what not to buy vs what to buy. So thank you for breaking it down the way you do. And please don't stop.

Thanks for your work! 👍 And I totally agree! I'm fishing the Pro Flex II with a Haibo Mirage an I love it! Super fast and sensitiv. I don't like the Dexterity (spinning model) that much also. It's to much minimized, has a to small grip. I always feel I will throw the rod away at casting. 😂 But as always I'm looking forward to new tackle. 😆 So I'm interested in the new Tsurinoya Ajing-C752UL. Only 82g and rated as 0.6 - 7g lure weight and they have learned and put 11 guides on it. Do you have any information how it does perform?

very pleased of your video ! i think you was in florida not singapore LOL! well let me return to your video, i think number of ring depend on rod action. fast rod also called Point Action or fast progressive action, need more ring on blank to copy flex curve. On the other end regular parabolic rod need less ring to avoid friction of line on bended blank. Solid tip end are know able to bend very lot.

I bought the Tsurinoya reel and now I am trying to return it. Looks of high quality actually, but my reel had some problems. Something is clicking, maybe the AR bearing. Also, the reel has way too much resistance for my liking. I don't know if its packed with grease or what. If I can't return it, i will open and try to fix, but i prefer to return it.

Excellent video. From an viewer from the US, I’d bet that the Elite II is built to be sold to a company in the US, and labeled as such. Given that the vast majority of rods sold in the US are made in China, except for the real premiums this would be a rod sold by as an “OEM” rod. There are literally millions of fisherman who are will to spend $300-$400 on a boat load of bass rods, but feel they’ve got to have a “finesse rod” and even if the best rod cost under $100 US, they wouldn’t buy it. Apparently, the rod ticks off at least most of the things on the US market, split grip, micro guides, fast action, and not really a “true” bait finesse action, I guess. This is the kind of rod that a lot of bass and walleye fisherman could get and leave open a rod locker in the boat and use it when “fishing is tough.” I just have nearly 50 years of fishing experience here and UL or BFS here is not the same as anywhere else. A lot of fisherman here still consider 3/8 oz. lures as UL and when they BFS fish, they fish a 1/8 jig with a 1/8 trailer. I don’t think that’s what is considered regular BFS elsewhere. The Proflex II sounds very intriguing for my UL fishing, however. Thanks for the introductions.

fisher men/gals really would love good rod info..i have bought tons of rods trying to dial in specs and good rods vs average rods..it is soo hard to get what you really want..you get a rod dialed in, and they make another upgrade/or new model..thus you go back to ground zero and start again..viscious circle..i find a good rod, I just buy extra units....ha.. usually buy them on clearance, end of the model...works for me..thanks for the info, another option..we all need help! appreciated.

I think the teton is a more versatile rod whereas the pro flex is better suited to finesse soft plastics work. A few things about the rods. My personal teton has been used heavily without issue for almost 2 years, i have had the pro flex and used it heavily for 3 months without issue. I know a few who have also owned the pro flex for a few months without issue but I know quite a few people over the last 2 years who have had tetons break on them. I can't speak from personal experience cos both my rods have held up fine, but just thought you should know what I've heard.

BCSG Fishing the pro flex 2 seller was a pain in the ass and didn’t respond for a bit , told me to wait. I filed a dispute and got a full refund finally. The other company I got the dexterity from offered to send me new tips for it, I told them to wait until I order the pro flex 2 from them. So one seller was awesome, even though I told them it was my fault pretty much. The other seller sucked and was shady, had $25 value on the proflex 2 package also.

love the review"" can you really say with hand on heart that your Shimano expride 2 piece is $200 dollars better than the $60 Pro Flex 2 rod you use ? think it all goes on whot people like to be seen using and not so much whot it fishes likemust say I'm thinking about buying the Pro Flex 2 in the Medium 5-21 grams for small 5-7cm crank baits and lipless jerk baits for smaller pike/zander and perch

That's a tough question for a shimano super fanboy like myself hahaha. What I'll say is that I have never had a shimano rod break or fail me in any way and I have shimano rods that are over 20yrs old. I generally have a lot of faith in the mid to high end stuff that shimano, daiwa and abu produce. As for whether it is worth the $200 more for the expride... I'll say that from a construction and materials perspective the expride is probably worth about $80-100 more, sic inserts, a little lighter, cross carbon wrapping that the pro flex doesn't have etc etc. BUT, I'd gladly pay the extra $100-120 premium for a shimano rod if I had the budget, cos you know... Shimano fan and all haha! I personally feel that when comparing good quality "unbranded" rods to good quality branded ones, what you are really paying for is a combination of the brand name and the warranty. Beyond a certain price point I feel it's really hard to really justify the price some of these branded rods go for, all that additional "tech" can't possibly be worth the extra $600-800 that some of these brands charge, if you get what I mean.

As for the Medium pro flex, I can't really provide much insight on that model cos I have only used the UL version. To my knowledge only the UL and L have solid tips.

I dont know how the Elite II rods guides are laid out, but overall guide count can be deceiving. Ive been experimenting with more guides spaced closer together on the tip for increased line control with fewer guides spaced farther apart the closer you get to the reel to reduce line friction. Results have been anywhere from nominal to fantastic, depending on the individual rod characteristics. The best results have come on lite to ultra lite rods with fast to x-fast tips, like a BFS rod. Micro guides really shine on the lighter rods as well.

There is NOTHING budget on any rods that cost $100 to $160 each PLUS $40 shipping and up to a month to wait on it to arrive to your door step!

That's very subjective. It's budget compared to $400 rods.

Excellent video! Just ordered DEXTERITY Ⅱ C632UL. I would ordered DEXTERITY I, but I couldn't find those. I'm pretty sure that I would like grip of DEXTERITY I more, because it looks like similar than in Tsurinoya Master UL, which grip is most comfortable in my BFS rods. But I'm pretty sure that grip of DEXTERITY Ⅱ is also OK. I'm little surprised that Dexterity is so Moderate action, I thought it is more Fast action. But that's probably not bad, because it is going to be used for Trout fishing. And I'm pretty sure that this is more Fast action than Kuying Freestyle Walker UL, which is a nice rod in my opinion, but it could be better caster. Also I'm a little surprised that Pro Flex is such fast action! I might have ordered that if I would knew that. But this kind of reel seat I don't like that much than Fuji(?) SKTS, found in Dexterity (And in Master UL). Also a little surprisement that flagship Elite II was a little disappointment to you. I have liked Tsurinoya rods very much, and just thought should I buy some expensive Tsurinoya, because their mid-range rods have been so good.
