Tackling A Boodle Fight by myself! | Massive Filipino Kamayan Feast

Not too along ago, I was able to escape the cold weather and head to the Philippines where we can enjoy the warm sun, the friendly people, and of course to bountiful foods! This year, not being able to travel, we can do the next best thing, which is to visit our local Filipino Eatery and become a tourist in one's own city. Here, in Vancouver Canada, I decided to seek out a great Filipino restaurant and feast of all great foods, from Ube Pancakes, to a massive boodle fight willed with Crispy Pata (pork belley), Chicken Adobo, Kare Kare, and much much more.. And to top it all off, a halo halo to round off the meal.

@@djtg01 thanks! yeah, I suspect I could get that fix with much cheaper options... A few people managed to take video of the occurrence, and unfortunately it was someone with some mental health issues.

Wow! Love the rice shaped into fish. Watching some of your old videos during the pandemic I think you were very kind to showcase places. That was quite a feast. No need to go to the Philippines at all. After looking over the comments everyone is so supportive 👍. I've been to similar establishments where I was the only one present. It makes you feel somewhat like a king. Quite a delicious feast that I must say quite healthy. I enjoy this video very much Thanks. I am sure you came out quite full 😆 I can't believe you wiped it all out. I'm sure just the dessert would have done it for me. I'll have to settle for a tuna sandwich. Oh no worries that tuna sandwich good 😛 cheers!

Oh no, so sorry to hear about your car Tim but good news that it could be replaced. There's not many Filipino restaurants here but yeah we love their foods!! the purple yam custard looks so good! The kamayan feast is huge! could hear the crispiness from the pork...great video! thanks for sharing this Tim!

I don't know how one person can eat all of that food. It's a lot. The different tastes, textures and colours look so appetizing. I liked the pancakes, the crispy chicken and fish. Feel bad about your Car, hope it gets fixed. That was a fantastic feast. Amazing that you knew the names of the different dishes. I also enjoy your taking a video of the kitchen as well as them making that fantastic dessert. You sparked an interest in me to find a Filipino restaurant locally or when I come up to Vancouver I will definitely give that place a try. Great video! Next time eating Filipino food, ask for their garlic/vinegar dipping sauce. It goes adds a nice touch of acid to the fried pork, and helps cut down on the fattiness.

I think it was very reasonably priced : ) I don't think they would make much money serving that much food and quality. I also think some of these places watch your videos and look at it as good advertisement. If I ever go to Vancouver I will definitely order the same thing :P Cheers! You can also do the boodle fight @ home with the fambam.You can do pretty much anything you wanna put on the table.Make sure you have the steam rice in the middle of the table as a base.Sorry to hear about the damage on your car.🤙🏼

Hi samhean1, no worries about the car at all 🙂. the food was a nice distraction, and I was actually a bit intimidated...I think because I was filming, the people in the kitchen overdid it a bit with the food, but certainly no complaints here 😋

Pour hot water over damaged area and use some kind of suking to pull it back out. U wouldn't even know u had the damage there. Try it and good luck

That pancake was indeed a bad idea...but glad you took the leftovers home! Simple recipe...just combine all leftover and make friend rice out of it

Taking out the food is a wonderful idea. Thus one doesn't need overwhelming and overstraining the organism's stamina! And, of course, I liked the Ube icecream a lot, when staying for some time in Manila. Halo - halo, alas, don't remember very well... Tim, Thank You very much for this various Phillipines culinary tour! And what can be more lovely, when it is being conducted over the lands of the serene British Columbia... Victoria and Vancouver of tranquility!!! The root to escape from the insanely mundane hustle and bustle of the rest of the world... Thank You so much, Tim🌹🌺🌷

@@TimLeeLetsGo And the most amazing and beautiful post office I ever visited in my life was in Manila. Very very elegant architecture of the end of 1940s - 1950s. And the soda drinks and snacks there were unparalleled, the best in Manila in terms of prices!!! Incredible! Actually, the food and drinks of the post offices of the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates is a very special marvelous theme in itself! In UAE You get so genteel flavorful cardomon coffee with figs for free!!! Just serve Yourself! Or the tea, with sugar, or without! It is such a welcoming friendly postal environment!!!🙃 I was unbelievably happy, that I came there to mail my post cards!🏋️‍♂️ And the post offices in India?.. I remember one in Mumbai. But the victuals were nearby and not at the premises. Also the post office in Goa... But they were not so romantic and beckoning as the post offices of UAE and of Manila...

First of all, get a Lamborghini hahaha ... those things happen all the time during severe weather like here in Oregon. lol Every time I go back home in Manila, I usually attend a gathering with that style(Kamayan or boodle fight). The one you had was ok, but the best one is really in the Philippines. Next time you go back there, bring some friends and learn how to eat with your bare hands. It's more fun but that will be after the pandemic for sure. That dessert(Halo-halo) is to die for. Glad you enjoy that feast. Cheers!

9:38 Did anyone notice how the rice was shaped like fish? Cool! That's too much food but they look so yummy and the price was right! Glad you got take-home. Sorry about your car tho. You were still so positive about it. The guy who did it should have taken care of the expenses.

It was very nice of them to decorate the boodle fight so nicely.. yeah they added some special touches and I think the kitchen folks went a little bit overboard 🙂
