same bs in the black community & i hate it. As a dark skinned black girl I’ve seen fellow black girls my complexion get reminded bu their own people that they are not white as an insult, or everytime we speak on colorism we’re accused of being jealous of the lighter skinned girls

This is always how it will go....UNLESS A PERSON IS OF AFRICAN ORIGIN dark skin tones are ALWAYS targets of discrimination. Second to that....those of us that are dark skinned and ( including myself ) have some sort of physical abnormality.

You are beautiful, people who think this way are brain washed threw north american standard that is a form of racism, you must love who you are and your heritage. Darker skin means you have more melanin that protects from the sun rays ,this is true blessing for those who know the truth and not the lie.

This is such a western concept. Why don't you go go live in a majority dark country like the Philippines or in African countries if you don't like the beauty standards of light skin? Why make a movement trying to change others' perception of beauty?
