Oh that's where I recognized it, Tom Francis I followed his game dev stuff on KZfaq he's been working on this idea for years I think cool to see it emerge, looks slick

Not the kind of game I'd usually play, but it's quite fun to watch. I wouldn't be susprised if "XCom 3 team" looked at this game and thought "hmmm this is what psyonics should look like in our new game"... XD

Drood mafia... This sounds like a certain game made infamous by a Mandalore video... Looks a lot like Into the Breach gameplay-wise. Probably not an accident. Interesting though since that was a good game.
