There can’t be enough of these videos. Movement off ball and spatial awareness are aspects of the game that are fairly mysterious to the casual football fan. Yet it’s where Ronaldo dominates world football.

same goes for importance of the ability to be involved in the build up and still score goals while casual fans just compare goals without seeing which position a player plays in for most of the 90 minutes. thats where messi dominates the world football :)

In my eyes Ronaldo is the perfect striker. He has Physique Speed Technique Intelligence and brilliant Intuition, Decision Making and of course finishing. In his days at Manchester United he developed lots of those qualities but he perfected them when playing for Real and improving his efficiency drastically and rapidly.

you forgot to mention Ronaldo is really good in the air, and his physicality helps him in the aerial duel. aside from his technical prowess he owns sheer determination to win games and scores goal everytime he plays this is why sometimes people think he is selfish but that is just his competitive spirit. and dont forget he really works hard to achieve it, too many player having immense talent but ends up wasting it.

Heading is just one of many ways in which he can exploit his superior movement and awareness. He is great in all finishing techniques, no matter what prt of the body. Yes he times headers better, but that’s awareness again.

I like this video, but its a career overview, can we have an overview of Ronaldo 2014-18? The new striker Ronaldo rather than old winger Ronaldo? His freekicks have worsened and he doesn't dribble anywhere near as much as he used to. But his positional awareness, ball distribution and finishing is nearing its peak. Also he seems to have developed the ability to thrive under pressure, which I feel is what separates him from his peers, a lot of World Class players fail when their team needs them most, but Ronaldo always seems to deliver.

Yes I agree his form has been impressive in Europe but theres 40+ matches domestically, consistency is key and he didnt show up. These days Messi is by far the better player but goals win matches and he's done it important games so it is a close call for Balon d'or. We must remember Messi and co. are undefeated in the league which is impressive and I think Salah should get it if Liverpool manage a UCL win (although reputation and marketing is more important in this award these days)

This video as a few flaws, which makes it an overall bad analysis. His freekick is not what makes him good. And something that makes him really really good is his aerial play and specifically heading, which is missing in this video.

This is true. He tends to try to go for the spectacular during free kicks. He should just take a safer shot and not try to knuckle it to perfection. He would have a higher conversion rate if he actually tried changing his free kick technique once in a while.

Ronaldo is playing in a Striker role after he became 30 year old, to be specific since Carlo Ancelotti's second season. Before that, He played at Left Midfield and Left Wing. Gradually he shifted his position to more centre of the opposition half. And btw, why can;t we compare two of the greatest players of our generation? Maybe, they play in different team, different style, different position and has different better attributes. That cannot stop us comparing them, can it? Just like we love to compare Pele and Maradona !!!
