Why do we need tactics in table tennis? How to learn to think during the game?
Table tennis is rapid chess! But why? What do TT and chess have in common? Actually an amateur may think that the one having impossible-to-receive serves or bullet-speed smashes will win! But if one dives deeper into that, it does not seem a sure thing anymore!
If one thinks tactically, it gives a player a huge advantage in the game. And the ability to execute an element technically right allows to use it in an actual play! That’s why if your technique lags behind, you will not be able to perform certain game moves, but it also applies to your opponent, so keep it in mind!
This video is an induction to Tactics and we will discuss how to think, analize and gain maximum profit of the games! There is a proverb Failure adds to experience and it is so indeed! A defeat gives you twice as much information as a victory. But one blames it on an accident, and another analyzes what went wrong and becomes stronger!
Tactics is used in
- serve
- serve receipt
- closed game
- open game
- actual play
Let’s have a look at each of these items separately and find out what’s there for us!
A table tennis set is a battle of two minds and both of them try to induce so called “their game”! What is to induce “their game”? For example, if your opponent is forced to return your serve as you want him to do to continue your combination and once he serves, he becomes a “victim” of your decisions as well! The one successful in inducing “his/her game” is already won a match!
