i bought the alpha for myself and 3 friends, first game i got robbed on. this was like 4 years ago. I cant get behind THIS game now, However, they guys that left this studio continued to make their idea of the game and it is miles ahead of this already. its called Vein.

Tbh this is the first update that appears to me like it's going in a positive direction. I like the atmosphere and environmental design, and the game appears to be shaping up into something that isn't completely broken. Though I wouldn't call it playable, as the fundamental mechanics (combat, zombies) are still terrible. I guess what I'm saying is I can actually see this turning into a playable game in the future, which was difficult to say about any of the previous versions.

15:48 I'm representing the CTRL to crouch community and I'm informing you that gamers using C to crouch are the real psychopaths here. I was googling to see if garmers most likely crouch with CTRL or C. It seems like CTRL is the most used crouch key (by a lot). I stumbled upon a (stupid) article named "Anyone who uses C key to crouch is a hopeless degenerate". Title made me laugh

It’s got potential for sure. I’m glad they decided to shut up and put up. Hopefully they turn this around, but they’ve got a long way to go. Till then I’m putting my faith in Vein.

Mannn... Here's what to add in empty places like forests: -Be able to pickup stones from the ground, maybe for a stone fire. -Be able to pick up sticks from trees, break the sticks from trees and also be able to pick them up from the ground if they do spawn. -Chop wood mechanic with an axe. -Be able to pick up leaves from trees, or leaves from plants. (Maybe you can make a makeshift bandage, that allows you to stop bleeding.. 🤔) Then the others that are even more important. -Cold and Heat mechanic, temperature of the body. -Food cooking. -Less Headbob holylxxxxyyy.. -Light sticks with cloth on them on fire, or just sticks. -Be able to rip clothes to get cloth. -Less guns and more emphasis on melee, since guns are supposed to be more powerful. -Don't put your whole budget on first person animations, since they look out of place because everything else looks very badly animated. (Third person animations) Also the sounds need work, the first person sounds shouldn't be so loud, your footsteps shouldn't be in your ears of your in-game character. There are probably more suggestions i would give, but i haven't tried the Game, this is based on the footage i saw. PS: (if you can't do third person animations, "which you can 101% because you can do first person ones" then at least make every animation be consistent, be it bad or good. If all animations are bad, then all of them must be bad, if all are good, all must be good, there is no in-between. Otherwise it looks like this... This is for the devs if they do read the comment that is.

Man why do Devs feel the need to add head bobbing? IMHO it doesn't add anything to the game but my gods it does add headache and eyestrain for me. Please tell me they at least have an option to turn that nonsense off. This is probably one of the most intense versions of head bobbing I've seen in a game.

the fact that they've been working on this for almost 7 years and this is what we've got is kinda ridiculous. this doesn't look like a game that's been in development for 7 years, but more like 1 year at max. I love the idea of the game and I've been following it for a long time now but I feel like it will take another 7 years for this game to be actually playable and fun.

This is wild to me.. It's like they've spent ALL of their time making the game look good and NONE of the time on anything else. Sound, item icons, unarmed combat, unconscious state, AI, UI. vaulting. Lots of bugs. Hope there's a head bob slider somewhere, because many people won't ever bother playing this exclusively due to the excessive head bob. This could be something decent if they spend another few years on it in the dark. I am an original backer.. and have seen this at it's worst. This is definitely appearing to move in a positive direction.

This game has potential as being project zomboid for gamers who dont like isometric games. If they keep working through everything[like zomboid is still technically a 10+year beta and never finished] If the devs work like its never finished I could see this being a big thing in 5 years

This game I was practically praying for success.. an indepth zombie survival with huge maps, intense exploration, and lots of guns and gunplay.. And then it flopped. It felt like all those dev updates I watched were fake. All that progress shown being non existant.

The zombies are no threat now. Last time I fired this up they were insane. Needs to be a middle ground. Game still has a looooooooong way to go. Yikes

Yes, the terrain is very accurate to that of Alberta, where the game is set. Alberta is a very flat province, Saskatchewan is flatter though. Heres hoping that once they actually finish this game as the promised, that they'll add a second major map that takes place in British Columbia as the terrain here is much more varied and if they put it on Vancouver Islands they would be able to have natural world borders by using the coast of the island

pro tip for any game to get better frame rates without degrading the quality of how the game looks to much is to use medium shadows. shadows are one of the heaviest resources to work with in a game an medium is usually not much different then high.

I guess a bunch of the devs are Fallout modders who have made a lot of top notch weapons mods which is why the guns and animations look so nice. Can't wait for them to iron the bugs out.

zombies dont feel like a threat at all... they look so slow, that you could just pack them up lead them somewhere and leave them there and go on with your things. makes gathering and looting worthless and actualy pointless because to actualy survive you dont need anything other than runing... anyway thats it my point of view. hope this game becomes something in the future.

Now that nobody's wants to play it, there's no pressure or expectations anymore they are just almost reaching beta access level. What a shame.

legit if they just clean it audio a bit. and like zombies get a new model, why are they so rubish and not scary or anything. the visuals look amazing. but ground and stuff can downgrade for fps. we dont need everything to have details. and fix headshot is 1 tap on zombies. and get the building part up. and the game will be playeble. and I will buy it if they actually get this right.

If they put this current effort in for the next 8 years it could be a solid game. However, given the current state of the studio and management it's highly likely this games dies and takes the studio with it.

1-2 years of work ahead of them, if not more. I won't hold my breath. We have some legit zombie games on the horizon made by teams who can actually do it. I have zero faith in these guys sadly. I'd love to be wrong though!

they just need to take all the bloat out of the game and just add core gameplay loops. so many things they dont need. keep it simple for now add looting, pvp, house fortification. only add things when they dont effect performance. they still trying to add too much too soon. idk man this game still has potential as long as they dont give up.

One of the MANY scams the gaming industry has been subject too for the last 10 year's. I hope no one buys this game even after they release sub par updates over the next 5 years because they used deceptive marketing to sell this game to so many people knowing it wasn't even remotely ready. Sell a product that is worth people's hard earned money or dont sell it all. They cheated to get the sales they have now and don't deserve anymore 🤷.

as of 6/20/24..it is not fixed. I have a rtx4070 and the game is just as broken as it was when it 'released'. I play Dayz, Rust, Arma, Arma Reforger, The Forest, and may other games on ultra settings.. and this game can barely, if at all, get past the player creation menu.

At this point dayz is 100 times better especially gameplay wise. The gins and animations look pretty good but the scoops suck and the zombies and fight mechanics are unpleasant

Looks like it definitely needs some work. I would play it if it was more polished, but With the sour taste the prior devs put in every ones mouth by not delivering and stealing money speaks for itself.

I played a little was ok spawned in gas station with 100s of them out side so far 2 things need fixed to many zombies or make it 1 shot to the head kills

it feels and look like this "world war z" game that was not affiliated with the movie back in 2012/2013 , zombies sucks , combat sucks , everything about it is way too rushed and unpolished. I won't expect much more from this game

They revoked access to almost all the original supporter keys and said "oopsie" instead of fixing the issue... While they plan to fix this mistake eventually, it's really just twisting the knife in the back of everyone who believed in them.

This game has made no progress in 4 years, I hardly see a difference. Actually looks worse of then at the alpha release.

This game is horrible, but I support the 3d modelers who put in a ton of hours. Have you tried out Arma Reforger on the Realism server? Reforger is a game that has made massive improvements from 2 years ago when it released.

Unbelievable, they abandoned miscreated and this is what they come up with? An excellent example of trying to run before learning to walk. Don’t do this. Polish miscreated! Balance the survival mechanics! Refine the cooking + water systems. A shame they basically abandoned what was a good solid game, only to do a half baked sequel of it on newer engine so the graphics can be astonishing. But the game is still shit.

I've been waiting for someone to make this video. I will straight up say I am really enjoying what they have come up with thus far. I've put 13 hours into it by now. There are some chunks missing but framerate is good and the game is enjoyable. if this foundation update is a sign of things to come, the game will literally rise from the dead lol
