That “something ARMYs would like” explanation sure caused a stir among shippers. Honestly at first when I saw it, it seemed as if Tae was attributing that move to a fan service but it wasn’t. I also saw translation in a different language which was very similar but more alluding to why it’s a fan fav. I don’t know Korean so I can only take it from the translations. Instead of drawing conclusions based on one sentence, we have to consider what Tae was responding to. Did a member ask “why did you kiss Jin on the cheek?” Not at all. So we can’t assume he was explaining his action on ep. 128. Did anyone ask him why he thought it was a fan favorite moment? Again, no. But since everyone else was essentially doing that there’s no reason to believe otherwise and take it out of context. To me Tae was just taking part in the discussion, and his explanation also made sense. I am not a blind shipper and there are moments where I doubt Taejin too but this one doesn’t look doubtful to me. Even if it’s fan service they wouldn’t say it out loud because that would defeat the purpose of fan service! To me the only time they need to say it’s “fan service” is to hide something that’s actually REAL, if it’s just fan service Tae could have just shrugged it off and smiled. So if there’s a slight chance that he said “ haha I was just doing this for show” then it’s even more suspicious!

Honestly I felt dishearted the moment Tae said surely this is something ARMY would like. As if he did it only because ARMY would enjoy it. But again when I thought again, this episode was selected as the ARMY's favourite episode of Taehyung. So isn't it the natural answer Taehyung could give as to why this episode might be ARMYs favorite of him. Just think, when a certain episode was chosen as ARMYs favorite for each member, there was a reason fir each one whether it is a humiliating moment or a cool moment. And for Taehyung's episode, he must have thought this is why this episode is ARMYs favorite of him. And that might be why he said that. Cz it's so normal for him to think like that. But if we watch that episode again we can notice that Taehyung was taking glances at Jin time to time, giving subtle touches to him and when he kissed Jin I was not surprised at all because Taehyung was at the edge of doing something to/with Jin. We can see that lil peck coming now or then when we watch the episode. Jin was soo adorable and Tae was whipped for him throughout the episode. As I remember Winterberry also have a video analysis of that episode. Hehe so Taejinnies dont get disappointed or sad thinking Taehyung made Taejin a fan service. We know better than anyone that it is not. They dont have to be so subtle for a fan service. And that concept fan service, I dont think they do that anymore with any member. At the beginning years they surely did fan service but now there is no need for them to invest so much in fan service cz they have a much stronger and an understanding bond with each member now. Whatever the moments they have now with each member feels more natural. They dont have to pretend anything to please fans. Their moments come naturally to them. That is my opinion and my observation over the years.

Ah antis are already taking this as a proof that they're fanservice. What he said can be easily misinterpreted. Before the kiss scene they showed hobie's betrayal scene and then the kiss scene. And tae was figuring out of why this episode was chosen. It obviously would not be because the betraying part, but the kiss scene which he assumed and made sense out of it that that's why it's been chosen. When he kissed jin during that episode he didn't say "army would like it", he answered genuinely of why he kissd him and its because it was jin who came close to him, it wasn't for army. Daily reminder that when taejin got asked to kiss each other's cheeks for army, they both rejected. So that's that!!🤗
