Respect for the teacher here. He held back the entire time. No unnecessary movement, great balance. He could have followed up and hurt the opponent. Instead, he pulled back , making his point. Nice form on the low kicks. Self-control is sometimes hardest to achieve.

@Ricardo what i see, is that is actually you, who -as many - are showing off and provoking. It's a basic that since white belt TKD teaches their students not to provoque others, that is why the suppossed TKD fighter is not who the video claims. Also the uniform wore by the ''TKD guy'' is not neither WT (Olympic assosiatio) or ITF (the original style from 1966). That being said, the fact that the name of the channel is '' kyokushin bul '', tells you something. That is why, the man in the video is not a ''TKD guy'' - the way the call him is way too negative and already shows the intention of the video, promoting it's art-. TKD is widely the most practised marial art with around 80 millon people - for you to imagine, my country has 40 millon ihhabitants. TKD can be made under rules of combat, as a conditioning sport, but is intended for self defense and is very simple: first, as i said, avoid combat by peaceful solutions - if you can't hit once and run. By the way real self defense situation is not flips or tricks like many wrong WT led to believe, nor is the UFC, wrestling with greasy guys for money. Self defense is another thing, it's something violent and quick, and that is why you should train for.
@diegoargibay2287
@diegoargibay2287 2 жыл бұрын
@Ricardo Well, if TKD is not effective then 80 million people are stupid or what. Instead, on the other hand, all martial arts who - coincidently - say that are better, even at the extent of critizing TKD, and promote some sort of agressiveness, are not the most practised not even in their country of origin, like BJJ -which is not the most popular in Brazil nor in the US - or in this case Muay Thai in Thailand - as you bring it to discussion. The so called effectiveness of them, is either not so much, or then you are very bad advertising them. Also, what is to know how to fight? some frontal guard? how to kick the shins hard? to enter in a box ring once a week and stand quite a lot of pain to show something? let me tell you that in present day, martial arts should be not for showing off, but for self defense. It has nothing to do with staring at the other doing fancy footwork, or being both in a cage or in a ring. Self defense is quick, lethal, for instance striking to vital points as to be available to run. And in TKD self defense is that: 1) first, common sense, you are a regular guy who practises martial arts, who are not an expert, so first avoid combat by peaceful solutions, 2) if you can't, hit hard and hit once, avoiding unnecesary footwork - this in not UFC -, 3) run, you are not to prove anything. In TKD class a good teacher will tell you this, no more no less. That is why you are saying it doesn't work to fight, precisely. Also i too knew Muay Thai beginners, or even who after doing TKD a few months passes to Muay Thai because they are promised to be taken to tournaments after 3-4-5 months of classes. What happens next is that they drop, since you promote to strenghten by receiving painful lessons such as being a human bag, in fact almost no technique at all, just hit, hit ,hit, but for a beginner it doesn't work 90% of them. Yes, i believe you have to be tough. It takes longer to take a student to a tournament; in TKD is at least 1 year or even more, i guarantee you, whoever you are, in TKD you are out of breath after 2 minutes of combat, specially with the equipment that is wore. After the combat, you take it off and you feel as heavy as air, even if you weight 80 kg. Not may practitioners of other martial arts who try TKD class, and not to stop to breath or hidrate.

giotispaok21 no it's not it's pretty brutal on your body sure it lacks defense and hand attacks to the head but no style or system is perfect really. Even mma as effective as it is has its limitations because it's still ultimately bound by rules and empty hand combat. Muay Thai lacks evasive defense which is going to dangerous if you get in a street fight with someone bigger and a lot more powerful than you. Boxing only focuses on punches. Bjj has turned into a strictly grappling sport that man bun potheads do while fried. Watered down Krav Maga that is taught to civilians has its limits too.

He said that due to the fact I learned kickboxing before he figured karate was the better way. So he taught me as much as he knew. For 5 years I trained with him and I can see the difference. TKD is good though. I mean I met guys who are very skilled in the art and are good enough to beat my friend and me. But that guy in the video in the red shirt was no good. My only issue with kyokushin is just that they train not to punch in the face, so (in some cases, not all) these guys are really well conditioned in their bodies, but don't know how to take a punch to the face Anyways enough of my rant, great video 😁

@MY-tradeplan true but unfortunately face punches are to be expected at some point. Even for boxers with good headmovement, but what differienciates them is that they dont panic when they get hit in the face, they keep on dodging I recall seeing a video of a muay thai practicioner who threw a hook at the kyokushin to the face. That wasnt a knockout punch, but the kyokushin guy falls down regarless because his brain is hardwired to stop fighting once a kick or punch connects to their head. (I found it kzfaq.info/get/bejne/erOiks-CzrO6dIE.html at 2:30 mark of the video is where the knockout punch occurs)

As a Tkd fighter, if you insist on using tkd alone you need to adjust according to the opponent and stick to the basics. Tkd is known for its kicking efficiency, range, agility, stamina and speed. You won't win a game of strength and power. Utilize feints, foot work, stepping, ware out your opponent and break his rhythm and explode at his jaw or ribs.

First : this guy didn't understand anything to Taekwondo and martial arts in general. Also, his taekwondo skills are terrible. He's fast, but his kicks don't have any power. He'll never be able to hurt someone with this. It's completely stupid to challenge someone who practice a martial art you never trained to fight against and obviously, he didn't ever fight in a full contact fight. Once the kyokushin master hit him with a low kick, you can see that the taekwondo guy lost his self confidence and that he is scared of the karate master. Also you can see that it's the first time he's hitten by a low kick... Conclusion : this is probably the worst taekwondo fight i've ever seen

Karate is superior to TKD in that there is more diversity regarding the variety of styles in karate. Most of the styles of TKD are super similar and it’s pretty hard to find a difference between them (WTF, American, ATA, AAU, Olympic...etc) while karate styles are usually VERY different (Shotokan, Go ji ryu, Kyokushi, Ken-po, Kem-po, Kudo, Ishin ryu, Point Karate...etc)
@dimaGBHS

Karate has a variety of styles for sure. Taekwondo is one of them. All six founding fathers inkl. Choi Hong-Hi were Karate practitioners with no further background (excerpt for Chun Sang-Sup who knew Judo). Some of them learned directly under Tōyama (Shudo-kan) und Funakoshi (Shoto-kan). First draft for the name was Tang Soo Do, way of the empty hand = Karate, which some schools still use and practice in Korea. Most transitioned to a less evident name - taekwondo.

The guy clearly ain't a tkd player. First of all, that is not a tkd stance. We also don't move like that. We don't practice low kicks and sweeps very often but we practice them for self defense. Also for the people who say tkd isn't effective, just WTF tkd or sport tkd isn't as effective but will work of used right, but the traditional tkd or ITF tkd really is devastating.

Gian Calub He used only a couple TKD techniques. His stance looked more JKD, MMA. I agree. He wasn't as "bad" as people think. The trouble was he fought a legitimate martial artist who knew how to use structure, stance and balance. It is fortunate for the challenger that this sensei had no desire to hurt him. He put in just enough power for the challenger to feel the effect, without following up or hitting vulnerable spots. Then he would back slightly to allow the opponent to respond. I'm impressed.

This karateka knows what he’s doing. Disable your opponents core, TKD = legs, ankles, outer thigh and knees. Boxing = the bicep, inner elbow, wrists but also legs and ribs, as boxers draw much of their power from the ground actually. karate, especially kyokushin is basically kickboxing and Mauy tai on steroids.

lowkick o melhor chute. Oque eu treino hoje é o muay thai.

i am taekwendo practitioner. Here is what i think of this. If he think wtf taekwendo can beat a kyokushin karate he is delusional. I can also see the instructor is clearly holding back and showing self control. We train the kicks mainly focusing on speed,agility and accuracy. The power behind the kick is highly disregarded. Only those who train taekwendo kick techniques for MMA and for actual fight will aim to have powerful kicks. Since the wining condition in taekwendo matches is point on contact.
@kyleking7699
@kyleking7699 2 жыл бұрын
@Ricardo Those who are highly trained in taekwendo knows it has flaws and needs. Since Wtf taekwendo is easy to get into and is very wide spread there are many practitioners as well as many badly trained ones like from mc dojos. The guy in the video doesn't look like he is badly trained but the WTF style of taekwendo is never beating kyokushin karate. If it is ITF taekwendo things might turn out differently.
@kyleking7699
@kyleking7699 2 жыл бұрын
@Ricardo i don't think them being arrogant got something to with the art. Its their nature. I can see the taekwendo player having problem learning muay thai. Since taekwendo kicks are thrown with feet unlike with shin from muay thai. It can be a hard habit to get rid off if they trained in taekwendo for many years.
