@@kaputt_jay3873 if you watch Taemin older video (SHINee video) he does look like floating when he dance. But this choreography is supposed to be harsh and intense, its understandable if we heard sounds of their shoes.

When Taemin jumps and lands solo you can hear his feet hit the floor which says to me they didn't edit his footwork sounds. And it is expected to hear a sound when jumping and landing. But anywhere else in the dance barely a whisper is heard from his footwork. I think a big difference between Taemin and other dancers, talking about feet in particular is he uses his feet differently. He doesn't forget to include his feet/shoes in his lines or moves. Similar to a ballet dancer pointing their feet. The dance may start at his core/center, but it extends through and past his fingertips and toes. Take the other dancers here, which they are amazing too! But they seem to leave their feet to do their own thing or their feet are a brick, something heavy at the end of their leg. Which with those heavy shoes they seem to prefer, isn't far from the truth. Notice Taemin's shoes have thinner soles and more flexibility. This allows his foot a greater range of motion.

Even Hyunjin, who's one of the few dancers I'd even put in Taemin's orbit, was noticeably less sharp and precise in his cover. Not only does it show how incredible Taemin and his dancers are, but just how HARD this damn choreo is, lol.

yah i really liked how their dance moves complemented and highlighted at the same time his solo choreo moves.... it was executed very nicely. Props to the dancers. Taemin's body really moves like water, very beautiful to watch.

ACL ig chungha influenced me. she brought up a great point on how the dancers are part of the art and not some decoration or “backup”. it’s disrespectful to say backup dancer when they are just are important to the performance as the main artist. we should recognize their hard work and their profession by calling them dancers plain and simple yknow?

Maybe this is a 'language barrier' thing, because English is not my first language, but I still don't see the bad thing on the word "backup": "A backup dancer also known as a background dancer is a *performer* who dances *with* or behind the *main performers* in a live musical act or music video." I admire backup dancers, and I know some of them are teachers and great choreographers too. But, on videos like this, they're not the *main dancer* , the celebrity, and that's ok. By calling them "backup" we are just *defining* which type of work they're doing right here, but not defining the whole person. A simple example: if I work as a background artist on a videogame, I will be credited as "background artist". Am I just a background artist? No, I can draw many other things too, I'm a complete artist, but on that specific project I was working as a background artist.

I think I read somewhere that one of the back dancers (forgot their name agh) said Criminal is the hardest/most tiring choreo they’ve had to do so far as a back dancer in their entire career. Major kudos to them all, they look absolutely exhausted at the end! Truly letting out their best dancing with Taemin. I hope they’re also going to be with Taemin in the title track for Act 2 when it comes out in November!
