@@asdrubalalejandrosolorzano1847 SM gives the leader position based off of age. BoA is older than Taeyeon so that would actually make BoA the leader. I would also potentially add Karina as a vocalist slightly leaning lead due to the fact that she has also been given ad-libs and high notes

wendy did good singing but her live vocals isnt as stable as taeyeon or winter, winter really good on high notes

Some of the E5s are not, but some E5s are relaxed so the may be, hard to tell we need a live for that, because of the annoying effects, mixing and auto tone. F#5 definitely not supported. Tayeon support up to Eb5 in mix

Her E5s are really relaxed these days with great placement, that why they sound so good even thought they're no supported (she had somr supported E5s in the past). I won't be surprised if she will support E5 soon enough. The good placememt and the fact that she lighten up her mix is the reason why she sound good even above her support range and not piercing to the ear. I love her G5 in Some Nights and her G#5 in Priority

@@nabilhamdini3717 That's not correct, she's not consistent with Eb5s. Her E5s are not relaxed either, they're brighter than before but that tension and failure to correctly thin out the cords are still there. She's never supported above Eb5 and never had any real consistency above D5.

@@eddyjacx5622 Eb5 are supported too it's very obvious, She support Eb5 consistently and even some of her E5s here are very very relaxed. Taeyeon "piercing" sound is due to her twang and mask placement, don't confuse it with starining, those are 2 different things. You can hear it even in her C#5 and D5.

There's a marked lack of proper development above D5, and it's especially clear on E5s and above, which is where the real overbearing tension and strain kick in. I doubt you understand what twang or mask even mean lol, those aren't reasons for why someone would sound tense and pushed like Taeyeon. Sohyang is twangy throughout her entire range, yet she doesn't sound like she's fighting with her larynx to get the notes out. Do you seriously think 0:11 and 0:32 have the same quality? Both have tons of editing but the E5s is clearly pushed with a tense larynx while the C#5 isn't. I know you're a big stan of hers but you really need to stop spreading misinformation, you can hype her without lying.

The only reason Sohyang was brought up is because she's an example of a singer who really does incorporates twang into her belts and does so without much issues because her mixing is well developed and she correctly thins out the cords as she ascends in her range. Taeyeon doesn't even use twang. Her issues aren't due to having twang, they're due to the fact that she cannot access notes above D5/Eb5 without relying on pushing the sound out and pulling her larynx up while doing so. What that means is that the actual phonation muscles in charge of sound production in the larynx lack the coordination and development in that part of her range. Yes, the larynx does naturally rise as you ascend especially in the more open vowels but there's a distinction between a correctly raised larynx and a pulled/tense one. We don't need to bring up Sohyang, there are dozens of other singers I could get into that have decent support quality in that Eb5-F5 range, like Ailee or Hyolyn or SSY. Ironically, Sohyang would actually apply more to your original comment; she's the one who's sound quality might not be the most pleasant due to twangy mixing but her actual coordination and thus output are far more developed. You're misusing the term support all over your rant...if Sohyang had more tension than Taeyeon, those higher notes wouldn't be supported. Support is indeed derived from the classic conception of appogio but that proper airflow that appogio calls for can be interfered with when a singer relies on inappropriate amounts of tension and uncoordinated phonation muscles to produce a sound. That's why singers Taeyeon and Wendy aren't known for having a particularly appealing sound above the D5/Eb5 threshold; they more or less throw their voices up there hoping to land something without having the requisite development and muscle memory to actually approach those notes correctly such that they remain coordinated and grounded. The whole point of me replying to your original comment was that you're spreading misinformation lol. Taeyeon still lacks consistency above D5; she can support Eb5s occasionally but it's not a consistent feat. Calling her E5s relaxed is also...a choice, an incorrect one. If you're going to call Sohyang tense on C5s, how exactly are you going to praise Tae's pulled larynx E5s lol? Sohyang'a main issue is that she doesn't use enough chest engagement below D5/Eb5, not tension. Yes, Tae's E5s are brighter than before due to a lighter mixing approach and overall higher placement but they very much do not sound comfortable or relaxed, there's still a shrill, yelled quality up there. Worth pointing out all the G5/G#5 notes you're praising haven't actually been attempted live and have plenty of studio editing to help them sound more passable. I can still hear under the editing that those notes are not great; the brightness helps conceal some of the strain just like in Ariana's case but it is strained nonetheless. None of these things I'm getting into are mentioned on that "2015 blog." A lot of this information can easily be accessed if you cared to get out of Tae's ass and actually explore technical singers and coaches, like Natalie Weiss or Victoria Rapanan or Sam Johnson. The G5 in Some Nights is less of a controlled belt and more of a yelp lol, she does not have the muscle coordination to properly belt up there to begin with. If you genuinely think that kind of uncoordinated, borderline-exclamation sounds better than supported mixing...idk what to tell you. Trust me, Sohyang is not Taeyeon's rival, you might want to consider aiming lower, perhaps try Wendy or Eunji.
