Icetail_1r I believe that its still a backing track. That note is probably the hardest note in all of SNSD's songs, because it is phrased. Jessica only hit it live twice and I don't think Taeyeon has done it at all. Look at the effort she puts into the E5, then look at the F#5. It just doesn't seem real to me. No shade to Tae, because I know she can hit the note (so could Jess) but I don't think she did.

Prince Giordan Nah, Tae has hit F#5s live many times, discounting the Twinkle era ones, the F#5s in Cover Up were delivered with a headier mix than her usual balanced mix and she hits it with a relaxed face in her concerts alot. I wouldn't say she didn't rely on backtrack for the power as that is what we hear mostly, but she probably did sing it.

Icetail_1r She has, I'm not arguing that. But both of those F#5's are notes. 1 note in a phrase. Twinkle was a slide into a sustained F#5, and Cover Up (which I also don't know if she has sung live tbh) is a single note. Phrasing high notes, having to say multiple words, AND holding the note, is incredibly difficult. Again, personally, I think that note is the hardest in all of SNSD's songs (minus "You Think" which has NEVER been sung live), so it's understandable why it hasn't been hit live. Jessica only did it once at the Golden Disk Awards. Just look at her face. That isn't just relaxed, especially after watching her face on her E5. That is the face of lipsync. EDIT: She did do it live at Tokyo Dome, but I can't tell if it was pure head voice, or just a super heady mix, because Sunny is loud over her.

In the past yes, but since Jessica left Taeyeon has improved immensely, expanding her vocal range to fill the void Jessica left. Jessica is naturally high pitched so its easier for her, Taeyeon's voice is low so she has to work harder for it. But she never felt the need to before because Jessica was around. Now she's unstoppable.

Ma Pax the same could be said about Ariana. the negativity that any singer other than her on my channel is pretty annoying and definitely gets old after a while. especially since a lot of these notes weren't nasal, and a good amount of lower ones were resonant.

Ma Pax lol this isn't feedback for me though, this is feedback to the singer. and I'm well aware that this is a public channel, but it's just interesting to see the blind eye and selectivity people exercise with Ariana's vocal issues, versus any other singer I make videos about, despite Taeyeon having both better and more support than Ariana, plus resonance. You're free to have your thoughts, but it's a recurring thing that happens on this channel. If you can't be positive about the content other than Ariana, don't watch it! Plenty of people do that too lol.

Ma Pax girl, stop. I know Taeyeon's voice inside and out, just as I know Ariana's. Taeyeon supports as low as G3/G#3, as high as D5 and occasionally Eb5 in her mix, and F#5 in head voice. Does she have problems with openness? Yes. Pitchy sometimes? Yes. But she's still a pretty damn good vocalist. So there's no blind eye. I acknowledge her issues. The thing is, people like to call out other vocalists on the same issues Ariana has, while... Taeyeon is the stronger vocalist by far.
