As far as I'm concerned, this watch alone is justification enough for the continued existence of the Heuer brand. Such a uniquely beautiful piece. Although I'm pretty sure that it would look ridiculous on my puny wrist, I think it looks pretty awesome on you, Rob.

I wouldn't ridicule anyone for not liking this watch. I appreciate its not for everyone. That said, the Monaco is one of my favorite watches. If I remember correctly, much older Monacos were thinner than this, although they only had about 40 hours of power.

Great review Rob! Funny Le Mans / lemaze reference. I love this watch and have one - I can say it is the watch I get the most compliments on of all the watches I wear. I think that is because it is so unique, recognizable and iconic that even many casual watch fans know what it is. Keep up the great work!

I've always been drawn to and love the Tag Monaco. I have yet to own one, but have handled and had a couple on wrist. The style, design, uniqueness, and history are the draw for me.

I really like the watch in both this and the black colorway. I've seen it on bracelet and I think it looks fantastic in that configuration but either way, a looker for sure and very cool. There may be one in my future.

Hi Rob, I have always admired the Monaco for it's unique shape plus I love chronos but never thought I would own one. Low and behold I am wearing a year 2000 Monaco cs2111 which is 38mm wide which makes a big difference as to wearability. I love the black dial and the crystal is same as newer versions but not sapphire and my favorite is that it is the second reissue so it says HEUER minus the Tag. This Monaco just works on my 7.5" wrist. Needless to say my Omegas, GSs, Tudors are spending more time in my watch box. Thanks for the review.

The Monaco is one that I have to love from a distance. I see it in video and in the display case and I love it. But when I tried it on I think it just looked awkward on my wrist.

I had not realized how big and thick that watch is, yikes. Impossible for me to wear. But I agree with you, the design is stunning. Clean and stylish and doesn't look busy at all. Great video.

That crystal is wild, I love it. $7k+ is way high but check the secondary market, I’m watching for a deal because i’d love to have one of these on the bracelet.

Tag gets a lot of hate, but I think they make decent watches . I have the 200 AquaRacer, great size, bracelet, is great, and dial is unique. Got a problem with the crown which I’m looking for service. Monaco is a great historical watch . Super big.

I wear the Cal.11 myself and also purchased the Cal.12 sunburst dial for my daddy…

1. Did we see you restrain your thumb three times? 2. In the 1970s Seiko used faceted crystals on the Lord Matic, King Seiko Vanac, and I think a couple other lines. They are super fun but very hard to find unchipped. As a result, some “restorers” grind down the edges; the OG edges are crisp.

Now thts a proper “Tag”….Not the quartz stuff they’re doing now.

I really like the dial, but it is too big even for my 8.2 inch wrist. But it is a beauty.

I'm a big fan of some of the original Heuer watches - not so of TAG Heuer (the company) and most of their watches. I think the watch featured is completely over-priced (even at half the RRP). Though TAG Heuer isn't a "repeat offender" like Panerai, it's difficult to generate any enthusiasm for the brand (or want to want to put your hand in your pocket to actually buy one of their watches) when they've tried to "mislead" enthusiasts/consumers about what's actually inside their products. When brands like Tudor (in particular) and Omega revisit their back catalogue and release a modern-day version you do feel that you're getting a quality item, maybe not hand-assembled watch-making - but a very desirable watch. I don't feel that with TAG Heuer's watches.

Tag is a middle eastern origin. They bought heuer. But hey have basic movements. Etas. For a $6k watch. No thank you
