As someone who got a Nergigante, I can't help but notice how quiet his footsteps are when you ride him. You'd think a raging beast like this would have thunderous footsteps, but nope - he makes a soft patter. Maybe his feet evolved that way so he could sneak up on his prey, which I must remind you, are OTHER ELDER DRAGONS.

this game hasn't been talked about enough I LOVE IT

i just realised if stories was lore accurate (which would probably be kinda boring cause all the different egg patterns are gorgeous), you'd be picking up a weird lookin nergi spike

I just hit high rank and instantly grinded the last story zones (rare dens) until i got like 4 Nergis. A tip for his genes: GET ARACHNOPHOBIA (from shrouded Nercilla) 13 cost tech move that makes nergi a monster vs his counter (speed)

Use '1000 Blades' off a Seregios for a technical move, plus it can apply bleed. Dream set up is a bleed proc. on a downed monster and Reverto uses Ground Dragon Slash or whatever it's called. *Insert Phil Swift meme*

Meanwhile I'm running a poop breath + arachnophobia with all the tech to boost their rates. Hunters hates it and monsties despise it.

try Nergigante with Arachnophobia (Non-Ele/Tech attack type/Poison/Paralysis) for all attack type Nergi (Power/Speed/Tech) on this build. It's pretty good :)

Also of note using Calamity Slash while riding the Nergigante will not put the Def down on you. Meaning if you are riding it you can do large damage, heal yourself and have no draw backs really. I have also used Crit Eye large on him (Still hunting for XL) and the crit damage you can get works very well with Dragon Eater.

I have Savage Roar and Arachnaphobia on mine. If the enemy isn't immune Arachnaphobia always inflicts either a paralysis or poison. Sometimes both.

If you switch the time of day at the catavan you can just refresh the area for new dens instantly

My first rare den in targa after beating the boss was a rainbow nerg. I’m keeping him for the rest of the game.

First time I got an egg, the game glitched and I ended up with 2 Rainbow Eggs. Saved pictures too. It was awesome. I got 2 perfect, fully opened slotted Nergigantes, one named Ruiner and another named Nexus. Ruiner will be my buddy for life and I'm taking him to fight the final boss with Ratha.

You rarely do head to heads? Well I dunno about everyone else but for me, I’ve done more double attacks through this game than any other type of attack

I got a good nergi egg like, first try after beating it by just waiting at the catavan stand and heading into a rare den on low rank. Could not believe my luck, it's easily one of my favorite monsters. (Alongside Zinogre, Astalos, Nargacuga, I swear you can almost never pick just one.)

dragon eater on a dragon build is insanely op. Heal up almost to full and does crayzee damage with crit boost XL. almost 1k per attack. healing for nearly 300.

No lie, all I did was join an online mission with a nice guy two minutes after defeating the nergigante in story mode and got one immediately. Now I just need a few more power houses before going further into the game to have my perfect team.

I've done this around 50 times and no luck and I just beat him in the main story. Im not sure how you got so lucky or if you have to go find one and beat it outside of the story then you can find their eggs? I'm so confused

No clue if this is common knowledge or not but I never saw it in any build videos, if you give him the sharpen blades gene from nargacuga his black spikes show up on him for like 3 turns and he does a shit ton more damage and has a lot more def.

Since High Rank, Nergigante eggs won't spawn anymore for me. Before i got like one of each 3rd or 4th den, now it's one of 20 😑

I wasn’t going to buy the game at first since I wanted to wait a bit for reviews and to see if I wanted it, since a lot of the time sequels are never as good as the first. I played the first MHs and I loved it, but on my birthday my friends both chipped in and got me mhs2 and once I got off of the island, I couldn’t put it down, I’m over 30 hours in and I’m at nergigante. They met and exceeded my expectations, and they gave us a better minimap they made the world levels more linear but in mhs1 when you died it was really hard to come back from, and the new monsties are great and they really fleshed out the old ones, but the only thing I was sad about was they got rid of one of the things that made querupecko my favorite monstie, they got rid of his monster call

You don't put a Critical (XL) gene? I started the game a few weeks ago and I'm before Oltura, I'm looking to customize a Nergigante currently. I put in the crit gene, non-elemental damage... I'm hesitant to put in the Dancer gene since he's almost always full of HP.

Question. Why not just use the rite to put the genes desired on him? I get having a good start is key but seems to me it is hard enough getting a good nergi egg.

My nerg is literally built to counter any monster type and even on the first turn he got enough kenship to take on any head to head, I only really use nerg only bc there’s no reason to change him lol once I got him I started giving him all non elemental genes and been upgrading each gene to XL version so mine hits like a truck and honestly every high rank monster I’ve taken on only really hits me like once or twice so I’ve been beating everything easer than my friend and he’s level 60+ and I was only lvl 29 and beat the game lmao I haven’t lost one match since I got him can’t wait to try my build on pvp

the rainbow nergi i got first had all of his skills he uses during his boss fight so i was happy bout that but now i need to replace the aracnaphobia i put in a sloot with somthing else then i need to get rid of the warm and cool genes it got and oddly every nergi ive gotten has usually had both temp genes and either nergis xl or l gene or both lol
