They have Tahitian groups in England, France of course, the Netherlands, and as far north as Finland...It was a group in Norway but it closed down bc the kumu had to move back to the US.

They should start Tahitian lessons here in Europe. I mean, we've seen bellydance, we've seen Zumba, I want Tahitian!! But for now, I'll use your practical video's! Thank you for making them!

Thank you for sharing this video for those of us trying to learn at home! Any recommendations for beginner tempo music like this? I'm performing at a friend's luau but not up to the crazy fast tempos yet.

I come from the yoga/pilates world and can tell you for sure that people do not know how to take care for their own body if they spent their life in an office chair and then suddenly came to a dance class like this - I see people trashing their spine in the background. I suggest anatomy training to revise the dance technique and the way it is being taught. it means the world for the people who didn t grow up to this and to the dancers in their old age or sooner.

I know they have it in Australia, but u can't go all the way there, why don't u make ur own halau? That's what I'm gonna do here in Norway, bc there is no Tahitian classes here either:C

Your assistant instructors need to be aware, how they dance affects how the class performs. I notice a lot of weak arm movements, and the class copies; the arms look nowhere near as sharp as the teacher's!

lol no one has ever died from doing Ori Tahiti, our moms, aunts, sisters, and grand parents has all danced like this, hula or Ori, and the only common injury people can get is knee problems, bc u always bend ur knees, but that's if u've danced ur whole life...As long as u know how to take care of ur own body, stay healthy, and do the movements right, nothing should ever happen:D

hmn still, I think u sound a bit exaggerated, yoga and pilates are way different than this, this is dancing, this actually strengthen ur body, not braking it...but u should talk this out w loketahiti and not me, since she's the ra'atira/kumu (teacher)! I don't know ur background nor knowledge about the body nor the dance, but u seem a bit off! I've never heard anyone talking about what ur stating! I've only heard of knee injuries, bc I asked an old veteran dancer, whose sister was a champion!

are these motions safe for your spine or the spine of your students? i think that you re in a lot of danger by crushing the vertebrae in your lower spine.

Why calling this TahitiFIT? This looks more like a normal Tahitian dance (tamure/otea) session. If so please respect the traditions. If you want it to be a FITNESS trademark, then, respect the fitness recommendations. Calling it TahitiFIT and making it a trademark seems lame. Or did I miss something?
