The story behind the song is that from ancient China and of a beautiful Chinese girl, Lian -Hua or Lotus Blossom who at 12 summers, was kidnapped by another clan. It was the Chinese ambassadors son, Chin Win who was much older and first lay eyes on her while she traveled with her family to his lands in the east to trade. Lian’s father, Cho, a musician and instrument maker had traveled there to sell the flutes and ruans he crafted, in the Great Emperors court. Upon her return home, Chin ordered a faction of the Great Emperors army to escort Lian -Hua and her family back to their lands in the west. As honored as Lian's family was for the kind gesture, little did they know Chin's real motive. By sunrise Lian had vanished and was nowhere in sight. Under the cover of night a few of Chin’s men gagged and tied her and rode away eastward. For days her family searched and mourned for Lian -Hua with the help of Chin's men, who only pretended to help as they knew all too well of her disappearance. Not fully knowing what happened to Lian -Hua, they feared she was dead and with that, many years passed. In those years, Lian -Hua had grown more beautiful than when she first arrived to the house of Chin. Chin tried for many years to win the love of Lian -Hua, but knowing of her abduction, she rejected him and thought only of her family and the lands to the west she so desperately missed. Chin grew frustrated with Lian -Hua and imprisoned her as punishment. Chin so loved Lian -Hua but her affection he could not have. As such, he became embittered and drank heavily and with Lian -Hua being held captive, he visited her one night, drunk and furious. "I bring you to this land in the hopes of making a better life for you and making you my wife and yet -you are ungrateful!" Chin said furiously while reaching for his knife as if to strike her. Lian -Hua, chained to the ground below slowly looked up at Chin. Her beautiful face radiated with the light of the fool moon shining through the window. -“Wait!” Lian cried. -“Know now that I came here captured by your will. My home, my family is beyond the mountains to the west, not here with you, yet you imprison me like a caged bird that I may someday love you.” Chin raised his head higher still holding his knife as Lian -Hua went on. -“It is you Chin, who is a prisoner among yourself. For as long as I am held here, I will never love you…never.” Tears swelled her eyes. It was these very words that Lian -Hua spoke that further enraged Chin. “Then if you can never love me, no one ever will!” With that, Chin took his knife and cut the right side of Lian’s beautiful face. A struggle ensued as Chin tried to have his way with Lian -Hua. She tried desperately to fight him off -only to feel the blade of his knife strike her in the chest. In her struggle, Lian -Hua let out a gasp and slowly fell to the ground. That same night Lian -Hua’s mother Mei awoke from a dream she had. In her dream, she heard Lian -Hua call to her and felt she was near. Mei rose and went outside and looked around calling to her daughter. “Lian -Hua, Lian -Hua, where are you?” She cried running, looking. “I am here my beautiful daughter, I am here.” The old woman cried. Now exhausted she fell to her knees weeping. Then realizing it was just a dream, she looked up to the heavens and prayed to the spirits for acting foolish. To her amazement, Mei noticed a shooting star flying westward leaving a slight glimmering trail that slowly dissipated in the sky above her. In old China, this is known as “A Trail of Angels.” Somehow Lian -Hua’s mother knew that her daughter had returned to her that night but was now in the spirit world. Revealing this dream to Cho the next day, Cho picked up a flute and played this very song to the memory of Lian -Hua, a lotus that forever blossoms THIS STORY IS FROM D'Guy AND IS TRUE!!!!!( I am deadly serious!!)

i know what you miss; CULTURE. art is part of culture. virtue is part of culture. music is part of culture.in the old days, the ancient culture had once been part of humans' life. it was like the 'qi' that moved the blood, the vital force of life. colonization, western imperialism + worldwide globalization have made most of humans lost that 'qi' that moved our souls; CULTURE. we are even losing humanity that makes us humans. think of the gentle maiden and her protective lover, it is a normal scene in the old days. but the world we live today, a lot of women are beaten, used, and manipulated by the men, vice versa, and that denotes the death of the old culture. welcome to the New World Order 😀

I will update my comment every new year here with this music.. 2019-- I found my half melody of life which was missing through this flute 2020- It became life saviour in lockdown and pamdemic... 2021- My memories are intertwined with it now.... 2022- Makes me feel nostalgic and teary thinking about those good days... Hoping life will change... Change is massive.. I am a medico now facing challenges every second but this brings hope 2023- Gave 1st year exams, went to home and was so happy. I was waiting for results and returned to college on 28th of Feb. On 2nd march, all of sudden got news of father's death. It was unexpected and unbearable. The day I performed his last rituals was the day my results of 1st year came. It was 4th of march. I passed the exams with unexpectedly good marks. My father always trusted me and he was right. This songs feels more attached now as I now has his memories intertwined with it forever. I miss him.. I wasn't able to tell him that though we fight, but I love him so much.. 😞. That's how life is guys, plzz go and say to your loved ones what u always wanted to bcz u never know when our paths will separate. Oct- my first bday without dad.. its hard.. he would never forget my bday but even his anniversary! Love u dad.. hope your smile anywhere in this world comes to me as a charm.. ❤ 2024- Mid year had passed.. a feeling of emptiness still lingers but i can hide it now and then. Time never stopped.. Life flowed.. my mom and lil brother endured with me the hardships that came after dad's death and now the situation is better than before. Everything was going great until dec 2023 came and my grandfather passed away. He couldnt bear his son's death. So i lost both of them in a year. When all this happens maybe a person becomes a stone and thats how we endured this pain too. My 2nd year uni went by and i fell sick for 1 month during exams. But i endured that too. Fast forward to now when my 3rd year classes are going on and i passed my uni with 3rd highest percentage. Hope my dad and grandpa always be my side and my family stays stable. I just wanna breathe. ❤

hey just wanted to say that I have been coming back to this song periodically throughout my life, since I was 12. I never saved it anywhere, like I do to most music I like, but like, every 6 months or so (sometimes even a year), I will strangely find myself back here, listening to this tune which has now become something pretty nostalgic to me. It makes me remember a time when things were easier than they are now, when I was younger. The fact that I somehow always come back, no matter how much time passes and how much I change, makes this video very special to my heart.

I don't know what it is about Chinese And Japanese culture that is just so incredibly beautiful and traditional.. The way they Kept traditions, and the lives of their ancestors alive, is absolutely inspiring.. If Only I could travel back in time to ancient China/Japan and experience their culture and traditions first hand. I would give ANYTHING.. The country itself was an absolutely beautiful and untouched place.. Their animals, music, clothing, people, culture, style, language, food, etc.. Are all absolutely breathtaking to me.
@highfirelegend7 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid you are having an overly romanticized impression on China at least. As a Chinese, I can tell you that except some walls and sites for view, China today has nothing like the past thousands of years. That China is long gone. Do go to Japan though, when u step into some of the places in Japan, you can feel the history precipitating there. Sadly, places can give ppl such feeling (peace, beautiful, yet sentimental) in China was no more. IMAO, the real China isn't in China.
@dimelo30277 жыл бұрын
yeah, it is in Hong Kong sure.

Ken Ling I'm sorry to hear that. But, None the less. China has a very beautiful and interesting history. I admire how everyone is so hard-working, and kind. 😃 even if it isn't what it used to be. It still has a magnificent glow to me. Always remember that!
@jimmyyu67347 жыл бұрын
+Ken Ling I highly disagree with you. There're so many ancient sites and places in China. Why do you say they are gone? And our cultures and ancient books also all preserved well in some way. If you travel enough around China to see these places, you will know "China" is still there, beautifully.
@highfirelegend7 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Yu I'm not surprised many ppl would disagree, but that just proves how little ppl know about China (or whatever is referred to as China), including most Chinese nowadays. You'd be surprised that at least half of the well educated ppl don't even know if Qin dynasty comes first or the Sui dynasty comes first. Before relating anything ancient, traditional, and historical on this land, you should know the very word and China was only invented in the 18th century. Before that, there's no ideology of a continuous "Chinese heritage". Instead, ppl think of a few dynasties taking over each other and do things more or less similarly as the previous ones. Secondly, I do agree that there are a few sites in China still worth going to. Like I said "except some walls and sites for view". These are the government chosen places to protect as tourists site and cultural heritage. Other than that, most of them are gone. Yet the few that we can admire nowadays, like the Forbidden city, the Great Wall, the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, the Jiangnan Confucius Temple, the few most well known ones I believe. You can find KFC, McDonald, Starbucks right next door. Now these kind of places that will ruin the feeling of an ancient site is strictly forbidden in Japan. Only Edo-era-like small merchant shops and restaurants are allowed. That is why I said not even these sites are anywhere close to be "well protected." Yuanmingyuan, the greatest garden ever built is in ruins. The Diaoyu Fortress was not even heard of to the majority. (where Khan Möngke were killed in battle that lead to the split of Mongolian Empire and changed the course of history of Euro-Asia). Where are the palaces in the city of Chang'an and Luoyang? Where's the Mingtang Emperor Wu of Tang built? Where are the 2800 temples from southern dynasties? Oh wait, that must be asking too much, because I just recalled that even the Shaolin Temple was ruined and rebuilt in the 20th century. Lastly, I'm not sure why would you consider the ancient books are preserved well in any means. Especially after the Great Cultural Revolution burning millions of them, tearing whole libraries down, smashing Confucius temples everywhere, leaving the literature reservation in the nation dropped more than 80%. Not even mentioning Qing emperors changing hundreds rolls of ancient texts as they wanted when compiling the Complete Library of the Four Treasuries, and before that, burning down the world's largest paper based encyclopedia ever made - Yongle Encyclopidia - just because it's the Ming dynasty that wrote it. Yes, The Confucius is still there, The Mencius is still there, the Four Books and Five Classics is still there, but the millions that you know not of, yet not less valuable did not survive these disasters. Or is it that we should be arrogantly proud of the only handful bunches that we still have? "China" is still there, but not the one most ppl though it is and was, and definitely not the one it has been for thousands of years. (Yet it actually hasn't been always the same for thousands of years) And absolutely not the one that you read from texts and romanticized by ideology. And the Chinese government or the ppl today is not doing a good job preserving the very culture, very teachings, and many other things that once made this land great and fascinating.

The sound of rain falling echoed in her heart, echoing like the deep abyss that grew like her never ending sorrow. Rain fell like the storm that raged upon her soul, as she stood there, grasping at the end of her umbrella like it was her last strand of hope. She had loved him. Loved him so much that she was blinded by his gaze that no longer reflected her figure when he looked at her. His warm touch, his laughter that filled her with joy, his every words that she had once listened attentively was all but a play to him, a show made for others to see. She was a fool, a complete utter fool that had paid the price of believing in his lies and deceit. The two figures on the bridge that embraced each other seemed like a dagger that was piercing her, as she ingrained that in her memory. A fool, now all alone by herself. Time seemed to slow down the raindrops that fell on her face, masking as her tears and covering the sound of her heart breaking. A couple, meeting each other when the sky wept and the clouds were a dome of contrasting grays, just like the works of a beautiful painting. In the midst of it all, a girl walked away silently.

@@shondasheepundefined5374 HK? It is a small city which is separated for a century, of course there are Separatism people. I think your opinion is based on double standard, look at your "Capital Riot", those people did the same thing HK people did and they are treated with real bullet, 4 people shot to death and many more arrested. Half of your voters hate the current government while in China, people feel safe and free with their capable government to deal with the pandemic.

Make an extended version please . I have been calming my anxiety using this track as a tool since I was 14 years old and I’m 21 now . Just saying I’m sure we all agree we would like an extended version.

💛 Believe in LORD JESUS and you will be saved. Accept HIM as your saviour so that you may enter the Kingdom of GOD when the time comes. The MOST HIGH GOD is inviting you to dine with HIM. “John 3:16, 18 NLT “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.” ( GOD’S SON JESUS) A repentance prayer: Prayer of salvation | Heavenly and Almighty GOD, I come before you humbled and sorrowful, aware of my sins and ready to repent. LORD forgive me for I have sinned before you. Wash away my sins purify me, and help me to turn from these sinful nature. Lead me to walk in your way instead, leaving behind my old life and starting a new life in you. JESUS, I accept you as my Lord and saviour and TODAY, I want to make you the LORD of my life. I choose nothing but YOU and YOUR ways ONLY, in YOUR MIGHTY name AMEN ✝︎🕊️
