Taigen Tiger Tank full metal upgrade version (v2) 03/02/12 from NITROTEK.
Lovely tank, good value for money and well worth it compared to other Heng Long pro version tanks. Although it is not truly a full metal version, it is very heavy and well built tank. The tracks are metal and the gear box is of the soft metal type. Most hatches are metal but one is not. Tow ropes, pipe cleaners and clips are plastic but metal parts can be purchased on ebay. The machine gun is metal but i am not sure whether the front and rear shackles are metal. Also, I am not sure if the front wheels and rear idler wheels are metal?
The tank comes with the standard non-proportional smoke unit which does work quite well. The tank has a very neat and tidy layout internally.
Removal of the upper shell is very easy - just pull lever at rear of tank to remove upper cover giving access to battery holder and other controls such as volume control, smoke unit on/off switch etc. Accessing the battery and other controls from the top of the tank is much quicker and easier than having to undo screws from under the tank.
The rear track flaps are plastic and a bit fragile so be careful when fitting them!
If your turret is to loose - then remove the turret cog and super glue a piece (approx 2 inch in length) of small white plastic cable tie to the inside of the turret aperture frontal section to take up the slack. Ensure you leave the rest of the aperture clear so that the turret cog can still slot into the aperture of the tank body upper casing.
If smoke only comes out of one exhaust then fit either 1 or 2 small cable ties to restrict the flow of smoke in smoke pipe that works best thus forcing the smoke to come out of the other pipe.
Remember to put Lithium grease on all cogs, brass bushes and all moving parts to aid smoother running and reduce wear and tear on moving parts.
