Daksh babu & Navneet ji, based on this review alone of DSG's performance on hills, I could conclusively zero-in on 1.5L Manual. North Indians can rarely do without wandering on hill terrain! Additionally, the in demand power delivery n control in manual is a clincher. Thank you for your honest review. All the Best!✨

You can make gear shift in manual mode using gear lever up and down.

When approaching an uphill in D mode at lower speeds, the car upshifts to gear 2 or 1 as soon as possible in order to reduce fuel consumption. Anyway, because of the lower friction coefficient combined with the greater strain caused by accelerating uphill, the clutches slide for a little longer, resulting in a juddering vibration inside the car. And it's like driving a manual on high gear. This is especially the case when you use a feathered throttle. This essentially maintains the car in gear 1 for a little longer or downshifts from 2 to 1 so you don't wind up in the "wrong" gear for the climb. They are statically coded, and it does change their operational parameters dynamically internally to account for clutch wear. When driving downhill, the engine brakes to maintain the same speed; if you desire to speed up by accelerating then it upshifts to the higher gears, now try feathering the accelerator pedal; this will activate the two-cylinder mode which will make it more smoother.

Koi fail ni...switch it to manual mode and it performs absolutely well.....else there will only be an issue of high rpms at times during inclination

I've been to Tosh and Pulga on my Polo GT 1.2 TSI. And It's an absolute fun to drive. Never felt the uncomfortable about the DSG.

In short high riding practical cars should always have torque converters. Dct is better suited for sedans/hatchbacks.

Hai, brother, iam a subscriber from Kerala and not well versed in Hindi. On seeing your vedeo i understand that for pucca hilly tracts , manual taigun is the first preference and torque converter and DSG are the second and third preferences. Am I correct ?

Yes bro …. I would rate …#1 torque converter #2 dsg #3 manual I drive Tucson automatic and Taigun 1.5 automatic and i10 manual .. last month I drove Tucson in Darjeeling Gangtok with 4 people in my car and I had no issues at all in drive mode … I didn’t feel the need of sport mode even on the steepest climb

Bhai yeh to hoga hi… dsg me koi dikkat nhi hai d mode pe bhi, jis hisab ki power mange gi gaadi us hisaab se hi shifting karta hai. Aaap pahado pe 10 ki speed pe second gear nahi daal paaoge bhai load hota hai gaadi pe to 1st and 2nd gear pe hi shifting rehti hai and rpms to upar jaayenge hi decline pe as engine breaking hai . And incline pe bhi toh power ki zarurat hai to rpms upar jaayenge hi zyada bro and shifting bilkul sahi hai mere paas bhi 1.5 dsg hai….

Absolutely. You should book a test drive with VW or Skoda. You will understand the fun of paddle shifters

That's not DSG transmission. 1.0tsi offers Torque Convertor

I appreciate your reality content.. In such a condition, should put the gear in manual gear shift not through the steering mount sifter but with gear shifter, so clutch plate will be performed well without heating & you can have desired performance from the vehicle. I'm also proud, owner of Taigun GT ➕️.
