To be honest I think that if it was a set up of of Josh Thomas, present on the panel there, giving an impression of Cate Blanchett, Kitty would've said .... " You're too pale to do Cate Blanchette." His paleness is a running joke about, and by, him. I think the issue here may 🤔 be that the Michael joke might be a bit iffy due to his skin condition causing pale patches which was very debilitating to Michael's psych health. So he felt the risky need to bleach his skin in an attempt to avoid jibes from all people.
