Absolutely agreed. I’m not indigenous but I’m Filipina and grew up in Australia and asa child of the 80s and 90s I just never saw that in the media australia is multicultural. It was pretty Caucasian in primary schools I went to a culturally diverse high school. When I played Mother Mary in a play and Jesus was played by an aboriginal guy no one made a big deal about it at school but it meant so much to me. I recall seeing Jason Scott Lee in Map of the human heart and it was the first time I’d seen an Asian lead in a major US film representation. Although he’s Hawaiian playing an Eskimo pilot in a beautiful love story it was huge as I’d only seen Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan in action films. Obviously seeing Joy Luck club was awesome and important I did find it annoying that the only time I saw Asians was in martial art films, war related films or as sex workers etc we are more than that. The same things can be said of indigenous people just like you said. It’s happening very slowly but surely. In Australia we have only a handful of aboriginal actors just in everyday roles but they’re magnificent Deborah Mailman and Miranda Tapsell being the main ones who. I hope that we do see more diversity in everyday roles and I would love to see more First Nations people on our screens.

@@CruzR1111 I have had a mad crush on Jason Scott Lee since seeing him as Bruce Lee in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. The funny part was that I had been crushing on Bruce Lee since I was a small girl. In high school we had an Aboriginal Australian exchange student. I thought he was beautiful and he was hilarious! He had dreams of being the biggest Aussie star in the world. I told him Jon Farriss already had that title in my heart...LOL We kept in touch for quite a while after he went back to Oz. Seeing any Indigenous person get a role that is a stereotype makes my heart happy. I am excited to see what Taika pulls out of his magical mind next!

I wonder if he ever made it even on a small scale. May I ask where in America you are? And what tribe? Just curious. I used to live in Florida, Chicago and studied a few months in Idaho. I even went to a proper Native American Pow Wow. The Shoshone-Bannock tribe. It was so epic and beautiful I loved it. Went with a blond blue eyed Aussie friend and a blond blue eyed Canadian classmate and she was warning me on the drive “it’s really beautiful but they don’t really like outsiders attending so don’t be put off if people are particularly friendly to you”. I jokingly responded “Nah I’ll be right, I’m a brown skinned Asian that no one can ever guess what my ethnicity is plus I’ve got a thick Aussie accent. Everyone loves an Aussie accent here.” Sure enough everyone was amazing to me . I have rally long hair and sunglasses on and a man asked “Hey sister, what tribe are you from?” I said “No tribe mate, I’m Aussie” he said “Oh are you indigenous Australian?” I said “Nah mate I’m Asian” 😜 we both laughed so hard and had a great chat. An hour later I was telling the punchline of a really inappropriate joke to 3 First Nations people at a stall and just as I said the very rude but funny punchline of the only native American joke I knew the Canadian lady walked in, heard the punchline and their roars and tears of laughter and the guy turns to her and Impatiently says “what do you want lady?” 😳 😂 Honestly one of the highlights of my time in Idaho was that day I just loved, the music and clothes oh and the dancing. Such a super cool experience and I felt privileged to experience that and be accepted by everyone I met.

@@CruzR1111 I used to live in North Carolina and am Georgia Cherokee, but not tribally affiliated. I am now in Virginia and will be attending a pow wow in 2 weeks! I am craving frybread! The only time anyone is not welcomed at a pow wow (tribal or not) is when they are being disrespectful in some way. Doesn't matter what color, tribe or association they are. I have looked up my Aussie friend's name several times over the years and see nothing of acting or singing. I hope he is living a wonderful life wherever he is.

The film before that was noted as one of the best in the MCU - and given the decline in quality in MCU projects I don't know that it's just down to Taika. But also, everyone has a project that doesn't come together the way you want it to.

Nah Harvey Weinstein is 'an embarassment to the movie industry' since he assaulted countless women, 'legend' Stanley Kubrick is for mistreating his actors (Shelly Duval wasn't the only one), and so many others are for doing evil shit but Taika gets more hate for directing a film people didnt like, geesh.

All I'm saying is that Thor can never be a credible character in the mcu anymore they made him a side character in his own movie out side of ragnarok what has he ever made that's a decent that still holds up ummmm nothing he just does a stupid maori voice for all his characters and just brings his country down
