Daniel Z-V lotr was the most critically acclaimed movie of the year and as a dc fan I wouldn’t count joker as a great movie at all the entire plot was basically taxi driver king of comedy and one who flew over cuckoos nest mixed but Joaquin absolutely deserved it

Daniel Z-V joker isnt bad but is extremely overrated. The movie is decent and only edgy teens who have ever watched MCU movies think it’s a masterpiece and I even thought Joaquin was annoying at times in the film which didn’t even feel like a Joker film to begin with (they turned it into a Joker film because money). I still much prefer TDK trilogy and I would give Joker a 6 or at best a 7/10

@TheMostFreakyGeek Like Jojo Rabbit is much more complex in its themes. While I do appreciate LW's message about needing love and being a woman, Jojo Rabbit takes a much more provocative stance, through showing who some the Nazis actually were than what we usually see them as.

Jojo was a fresh, interesting, and unlike anything else I’ve seen. It totally deserved the win.

I disagree. Jojowas good but I thought that Little Women was incredible. The flashback structure really heightened the emotions and the ending was brilliant. Both are deserving winners though.

You'd have to read the books they adapted to actually judge the adaptations but I agree. While Greta put a modern twist on LW which I loved, his script was so different than the source book.

Mateo Maher, not at all. I think Greta did an amazing job with structure. I think at first it was a bit distracting because I didn’t knew going in, but I think it’s rather unique telling the story that way. Rather than having the usual three act structure.
