I used to live in Mallorca, Spain. I used to ride a bicycle a great deal and drive a Renault 1.5 turbo diesel. One day I decided to take the car around a 55 mile route through the hills and along the cliff region of the island (South West corner) that I rode regularly on the bicycle. Met a sports bike and it turned into a speed fest. Speeds of 90-95mph, red-hot brakes, scorching tyres, 4 wheel drifts in a front wheel drive. I would win on the twisties and he would win of the straights. We had a chat in Spanish at the end. He enjoyed the route and was surprised I could keep up. I rung the neck of that poor little Renault. The bike rider was nowhere near leaning the bike as much as that nugget in the video, but we were going much quicker.

Such a strange and selfish thing to do on the public highway. Motorcycles are seen, used and ridden very differently in the US to the way they are on Europe. Riders here (good riders) would pay to avoid narrow stretches of blacktop crowded with immature show-offs trying to prove something. This sort of thing would be much more fun and rather faster on a track. Doing it here is just going to endanger (and piss off) other road users. And.... At the end of the day, for all the posturing and knee-dragging, it wasn't that fast.

@@cameltube-vk7el Yes... Strange. It's a public highway. It is strange to imagine or adopt or entitle oneself to the right to ride like that on the highway. Other people get hurt sometimes. The TT is just one of many road races across the UK and Ireland. These are organised races and the roads are closed. There are marshals and paramedics. These folk on the video are hooning on an open highway and... that is steange and selfish. If there is a real need to prove something, there are tracks that can be ridden. Excellent, grippy surface, plenty of run-off and corners/cambers specifically designed to test and amuse the rider. Riding like this on the highway is puerile and soppy and.... strange.

COMMON to both→ WE both have similar cars, drive on similar roads BUT !! UK [all across the pond] operates & is operating vehicles on the wrong side of the road-ways. @@cameltube-vk7el Wow, golly gosh! I thought I could type on a phone screen.... That is quite an essay.... Chapeau! I am happy with the word "strange" as I use it. I am too old to ride now, but in my youth I rode a great deal on these small islands just off the coast of NW continental Europe. Also down across the Alps and onto the Balkans and down the spine of Italy. I am not immune to the perceived need to "scratch". My foot pegs stayed off the tarmac through lack of skill and courage, not a lack of foolhardiness. I've ridden in the US, too, but not much and not on "interesting" roads. And I've ridden with Canadian and US riders in Europe. The culture is not so different. A bike is a bike. Anyway.... It's just an opinion. Many of mine are wrong. And again, Chapeau to you for a mammoth typing effort. I shrink a little back onto my seat when a phrase or word like "Godspeed" comes across the pond at me.... Just ride within your skill level. Idk why dudes with sport bikes feel the need to treat twisty roads like they're on the track. Who cares if you're slower than your buddy when you still have your life and a working motorcycle.
@cameltube-vk7el2 жыл бұрын
well how else do you improve anything if you dont do something different ?? Normally that means outside your comfort zone. I hear & get the dangers common sense danger here but, most all, NO all the bike fails I know about the rider was injured even IF [big IF] they hit another vehicle [not another bike though] like a car sure. But its the race's on road track that get spectators hurt. So it really fun to do the twisty stuff on a road like this! That said, its easy to mess up when you follow someone "better" and their bike is "better" as I did often. It was the perfect storm, in my mind Like this was an "ultimate challenge!" IN my mind ! Skills→ Percentage %-wise I figured if he can make it so can I, or really it was "so can my BIKE" & it was up to me to rise up to the occasion and make it GAME MODE w\safety protocols & parameters OFF. It was a epic ride that first time! I pushed & did things I had never done only dreamed of it....I hit corners at like 50 braking late down to 30's.....left turn head down at handle-bar level, weight forward on the front tire, knee out & L E A N into the turn, lean more....S H I T lean even M O R E !!!!! Header scrapes again for 3rd time when the 2 [honda] $$ Interceptors vanished 1 -n- 2 PooF they wer gone [well in the muddy ditch] from the track or road. No I did not stop, I was now 6 bikes from the lead. FYI we started at a bridge with > 50 bikes, GO !! We set off across TAMPA BAY at the Gandy bridge hitting 120, 130+mph WHEW man ok ok. When we reached the other side & stop in the parking lot a 1\2 mile from "feet dry" [bridge end] we had cut the field in half. Off down Race Track road we go. Just about 3 miles to a area to pull over, we took roll call.......now down to 15-20 riders. "G O" We continued on through the cow zone [3-5 cows wandered onto the road at one turn, with out incident] this is when I lost the bike in front of me & then the next 2 bikes in front of him before we made it to the 24hr little store rendezvous point....roll call \head count hmmmmmm we were down to 9 heros. We had a drink& discussed the journey, the rider FAILS ....then the reveal !!!! Who were the boys in front of me the whole time setting the pace ?!?!? 4 four of them raced competitively Pro-Am W T F !!?? And I ended up out of >than 50 riders to 30 down to 7-8-or-9 at the AAR[after action report] WoW just WoW a dream came true. I rode my bike at the same caliber as them, I survived to tell the story. I had leaned my bike at an unreal angle, so much so that a racing header scraped 3x in that turn......MaX-Xtreme-PLAYER-level-engaged w\SAFETY oFF ....N O re-spawn real world lol] So, never again. I tried to ride the same road alone& I chickened out in the turn & almost dumped it. We had race around on these 2 lane roads from about 1 am to about 4. # riders in front of me slid off into ditches on 2 turns. My header scratched 3x's in one turn that 2 went off in front of me on new $$$ bikes $$$ but no one hurt.....really !! Some point a sheriff showed up when I was heading home alone. Pulls me over, tells me about the report of racing on Race Track Road......he gave me the DANGER speech and let me go.....said he hopes he dont have to clean me off the road. Peace Out ~ Always Forward ~ Godspeed

It's a 30mph speed limit. Think of a stereotypical Harley buyer who has no idea what he's doing and makes this his first trip. He should have no problem on The Dragon.
@ryanmalone26812 жыл бұрын
It’s not hard. If you want to ride like an idiot, you better pay close attention, but ever since the 16-wheelers have been removed there is no difference to any other road. You see these guys and think everyone’s riding like this. It’s not. I’m from Nashville so it’s too far to make it on my supersport, so I’m there on my BMW K1600 and I’m not going that fast but am good in the corners and on the brakes and usually,just constantly passing people. Go and just ride within your limits and you’ll experience a world-renowned road and get some god experience and confidence. I highly encourage it. Ride your own ride though, not like this guy.

Love motorcycles and own a few, my 20 year old rides and if he does stuff like this the bikes are gone. We ride together a lot and at lean he is inside the yellow lines. With all that traffic you got no business riding like that.

I'm so glad someone else leans inside the lines. These fucking idiots think because their tire is inside the lane that's all that matters. Some asshole motorcyclist almost killed me on the blue ridge parkway while leaning into my lane. I hate these motherfuckers.

I watched a squid not make the exit of a corner on the dragon, bouncing off the bank and his motorcycle spinning on its side got lodged under the front of a police car😂. He had been trying to keep up with me. I saw the police coming down the other side and slowed down to the speed limit and the squid flew right by me and blew the corner.
