I made both the traditional anko and the very different mozzerrella filled ones. Gotta use medium heat, always fill shallow first, put your filling, then a top layer, else the filling won't be centered.

mine always starts great but the longer i use the pan, eventually the taiyakis start getting burnt.

I also tie a rubber band on the tip of the handle, so I can sit back for 2 minutes before flipping, then putting on a wire rack to cool.

My grandma used to eat these all the time when she was a kid... maybe not as burnt--sorry, "charred"--but with red bean paste (pat). It's one of my favorite snacks too, even here in the US.

If you try different flavors my favorites are custard and taro the nutella isn’t bad but makes it feel thicker and more dense- therefore harder to chew and swallow but taiyaki can be made lighter and thinner, a very different texture than pancake. Love your videos💗

I missed them so much. An Hmart near me had an old man that made fresh Taiyaki really cheap and they were huge. Like 4 for 5 dollars or was it the other way around. Anyway I missed it so much.
