शकील बदायूंनी की यह ग़ज़ल फिल्म लीडर में आई थी और साहिर लुधियानवी की यह ग़ज़ल फ़िल्म ग़ज़ल में आई थी। साहिर साहेब शब्दों के जादूगर थे।

मुझे साहिर की बात ज्यादा पसंद आई कया खुब कहा ऊन्होने ये केसे मुमकीन के जो सची मोहबत करने वाले सभी ताजमहल बना सकेगे और वही सच्ची मोहबत करते है रही बात साहीर साहेब ने ऊनकी किताब तलखियाँ मे काफी पहिले ये नजम लिखी थी बाद मे शकील साहब ने लिडर फिल्म मे ये गित लिखाऔर साहीर के विपरीत लिखा

दोनों ही अपनी जगह सही है गरीब अपने नजरिए से देखेगा और अमीर अपने नजरिए से🙏🙏🙏

Listening both the ghazals was a treat. But shakeeljee has impressed me the most. Why sahir ludhianvi discards the symbolism of love that is tajmahal is beyond imagination.

Poem by Saher on Taj Mahal is very critical of love among the rich contrarily Shakil has spoken about the love which is universal and unadulterated.

साहिर लुधियानवी साहेब की किताब तल्खियाँ 1945 में छपी थी जिसमे एक नज़्म ताजमहल पर लिखी थी उसी नज़्म को फिल्म गजल में दे दिया। शकील बदायूंनी साहेब ने लीडर फिल्म के लिए ताजमहल के लिए नज़्म लिखी। लीडर फिल्म 1964 में आई थी।इसलिए साहिर साहेब ने शकील बदायूंनी साहेब से बहुत पहले ही ताजमहल पर नज़्म लिख दिया था और अपने ख्यालात पेश कर दिए थे।यह अलग बात है कि शकील बदायूंनी और हसरत जयपुरी बॉम्बे फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में साहिर लुधियानवी से पहले आए थे। साहिर साहेब को गुरुदत्त साहेब ने बॉम्बे फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में लाया था। साहिर साहेब की संगीतकार रोशन साहेब से बनती थी और शकील बदायूंनी साहेब की नौशाद साहब से बनती थी। लीडर फिल्म के लिए गीत लिखने का पहला ऑफर साहिर साहेब को मिला था लेकिन उन्होंने लीडर में गीत लिखने से मना कर दिया क्योंकि लीडर के संगीतकार नौशाद साहब थे।

Sahir was probably the greatest Indian intellectual poet ever, second to none, not merely because of his command of the language but perhaps more so because of his truthfulness and his ability to express real human situations and emotions in simple beautiful words. He was certainly not the kind of poet whose work was plagued by fantasy, flattery, vanity or lament, a characteristic quite common among the indian poets of Sahil’s time and previous generations. I agree with him that an autocratic ruler can never experience true love, let alone tell others what it means to be truly in love someone. It can happen only in a free democratic society. Those who describe emperor Shah Jahan as a true lover are the same who bestow the emotive title of ‘the great’ to Alexander The Fool ( my title for him, after reading what he did and achieved), indeed an idiot of the highest order

Sahir has voiced the bare truth, though harsh and unpleasant. On needs courage to pen such a rebellious philosophy against all the appreciation Taj Mahal has got from the world. Ironically, considered to be symbol of love it was built by Shah Jehan in memory Mumtaaz who m he married after killing her husband and she died giving birth to her fourteenth child. Shah Jehan had physical relations with his daughter. He married Mumtaaz's younger sister on the seventh day after Mumtaaz died. And they call it a symbol of love!!! Tal Mahal is a symbol of physical lust, incest and insensitive treatment towards women. This truth should be engraved on the walls of Taj Mahal in bold letters in all languages. Let the truth be revealed. Coming back to poetry, Sahir is great.
