I thought the same but after watching this scene and the next where Takara said "sing me a lullaby or I break the door" I just realized, that he is this way becaus otherwise he would break out like a vulcano... It´s his way to protect Amagi from the animalic instincts he has, cause he loves Amagi with all his heart and soul and body...

People complain about how Takara is always stoney faced but I like it because I can by the subtle differences that on the inside he’s freaking tf out… unless that’s just my imagination but I would live in that delulu land

I think he does that on purpose because they don't want to show too much while at school. You can see his demeanor changes a bit more soft when they are alone and not at school. He probably also fights himself internally all the time so that he doesn't lose himself with Amagi.
