We visit the beautiful old town of Takayama, walk around trying sake at the breweries, eating noms such as gohei mochi, trying cute cafes and checking out the amazing matsuri floats in the Festival Floats Exhibiton Hall (Yatai Kaikan) and the amazing model of Nikko at the Nikkokan! We then drive to our hotel - the Auberge Hida no Mori, and have the most amazing Italian style dinner prepared by the owners. Thanks for watching!!!

Thank you for this take on Takayama. I was given a couple of projects by Gifu Prefectural Tourism Bureau to explore Takayama and wanted to see what kind of content exists before making one of their official guides. I draw inspiration from talented creators and good pieces of material such as this. You're awesome. Keep doing you!

There is another Hida beef nigiri shop along the river that doesn't have a line! I bought my nigiri from there before crossing back into the main section of the old town and seeing that ridiculous line - felt very lucky! The old town is beautiful but way too crowded during the main part of the day to enjoy properly. Seeing it in the morning before 10am was much more pleasant, before all the day trippers arrived. Likewise, the area around the Yataikan was much more enjoyable than the main town due to the lack of people, and just as attractive.

Amazing video natasha! You really deserve more subscribers. Takayama looks beautiful and I enjoyed the background music on this one. Looking forward to your footage of shirakawa Go! For hotel rooms do you go based off of price or do you like to mix things up a bit and not just stay in ryokans all the time?
@thisNatasha
@thisNatasha 4 жыл бұрын
Aw thanks Manny!!! I usually do a mixture when it comes to hotels, if there's somewhere really special (like this one) then we'll do that, otherwise we'll stay in a business hotel! Ryokan are very expensive, so we tend to stay in them only for a few nights!

Again, so beautiful. The small streets, the little houses... The only thing that's a bit of a nightmare for me are those shared bathrooms/toilets. I need at least a toilet in the room :p But wow, those meals... yes, they clearly took some schooling in Europe haha :)

Nice little town this Takayama! Looking forward to the rental car video. I've never rented a car in Japan for many reasons, but there are places, especially in the north, where you need to do so. The restaurant at the Hida no Mori hotel only serves Italian food? Being from Italy, it would be weird going to Japan and having spaghetti 🤪
