This video shows a cab ride with an overlay of a real F7 locomotive cab and passenger car windows, as if you were really there. The Whatcom Skagit Model Railroad Club (WSMRC) located in Alger, Washington boast two layouts: one in HO Scale and one in N Scale. Using photos from inside Nick Muff’s full sized Kansas City Southern F7 and his replica Kansas City Southern Dining Car which were overlayed and masked out onto videos of the entire Whatcom Skagit Model Railroad Club’s HO Layout. The video was captured on an Odro EP8 and a Polaroid Cube mounted on a flat car and pushed by various engines. The WSMRC created an engineer's, fireman's and passenger's view of the run. In addition, Don Jones created tunnel interiors using aluminum foil painted black and ran the same flat car and cameras through to create the illusion of real tunnels. The film was edited by Steve McCartt, and presented at a meeting of the Mount Vernon clinic of the 4th division of the Pacific Northwest region of the National Model Railroad Association ( nmra.org ).
