It's a very powerful car, but don't get stuck on potholes or obstacles. The wheels are small, they need to be a little bigger..

There are certainly options with larger wheels. Our suggested style for rougher terrain are the center wheel drive style wheelchairs like the Jazzy EVO (www.broadwayhomemed.com/jazzy-evo-613-sla.html). On the other hand, the Ally is specifically built to be lightweight and foldable, so it makes certain compromises. Always need the right power chair for the right need of course!

can you transfer the controller to the left side?

It can! the control module and light modules can be switched sides fairly easily!
