One of Bruce Sudano's (Summer's husband) favorites is the song Take Heart, which holds special meaning for him. "Donna's actually speaking to me, because the lyric in the song says 'True love never dies. There will always be a light in your soul,'" said Sudano.
"Take Heart" was originally released as part of "The Mercy Project," a special compilation album featuring songs of hope and encouragement from a dozen top female recording artists, including Summer, Amy Grant, Martina McBride and Point of Grace.
Summer's "Take Heart" has been hailed as one of the album's most touching songs, in part because it features a special vocal chorus consisting of children saved through Mercy Ministries' parenting and adoption programs.

I Miss my mother who I lost on: 01/04/2023! It hurts everyday, I feel this song IN MY SOUL!! Also, does not hurt I love Donna Summer's voice so much and actually think she is so underrated; Was, SO, HAPPY when I heard Beyonce Sampled her, how could she not include THE QUEEN PERIOD! Also, fun factoid; Donna Summer is the ONLY Artist to have WON 4 Grammys, Each of the 4 Grammy's was in a DIFFERENT GENRE; 1 in Country. 1 in Disco (no longer a category) 1 in Inspirational Finally and 1 Grammy in Rock. Plus only artist EVER to chart at Number 1 with not 1, not 2 BUT 3 DOUBLE ALBUMS (That would be to Records with music on both sides).

Good lord! She was so special and amazing. Lucky for those that were loved by this magical, mystical, intriguing, and lovely goddess. She was so full of light and love. She was so gifted and amazing. She truly sang her music with raw heartfelt passion. Painting a flawless and emotional delivery for all the world to enjoy. Inspired and adored by millions. Her legacy and music shall live on for an eternity. Thank you sweet Jesus for blessing her with such a beautiful gift. We love you Donna Summer. I just know you're up in heaven looking down on us as you sing with the choir of angels. ❤️

She was Never “underrated”!! I think you mean she wasn’t splashed across the Tabloid press and written about in scandalous manner like say Madonna, Gaga, Whitney etc etc! She was a very private person, down-to-earth and always liked to be understated and humble. The Music industry holds her in the highest of esteems as the Pioneer whose music broke the ground and changed the game and she was the first female to be inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of Fame even ahead of Tina Turner. Her Vocals & Music did all the talking and chiselled her place firmly in Music History. Bowie referred to her as “The Future of Music”. A firm and close friend of Elton John, she was Never underrated. She was the leader of Modern Music and a huge Pioneer and today’s Artistes all attest to this fact 💎💎💎👑👑👑❤️🙏🏾

What a beautiful song by Donna (as I type through tearful eyes.) What an amazing couple Donna and Bruce were! Two extraordinary people. Their true love will NEVER die for no matter where Bruce's life journey takes him, Donna's love will always be a light in his soul.

Still, still, still cannot accept/believethat she's gone, like a true family member-but like the song says I must 'Take Heart". For many years she always held a place in my heart and was truly a part of my life. We met once, Isaw her in concert; had most of her records. People always told me I looked like her,even; but that's not important. She was a peaceful and potent driving force in the music indsutry, she taught women how to be their own boss and make it in a male-dominated field, wrote so many songs and shined her light whereever she went. Donna, you were/are loved and we miss you so much down here, tell the angels to watch over us till our time comes and we learn to sing like you , in that great heavenly disco in the sky... Love you, Donna Diva!!!!

Never knew of this recording. I love it. OMG! The pic at 3:58! Dionne Warwick, Clive Davis, Donna Summer and Whitney Houston!! God would I have loved to be the server at their table! I'd be the worst server though; I'd be utterly stunned, in shock and standing there with my mouth open completely enthralled with whatever megastars talk about with each other! Thanks for posting!

Man the amount of random singles she released from 94-2010. If she was heavily promoted properly and actually wasn't bouncing from one label to the next then all of those random singles and soundtracks including Take Heart would have been hits in my opinion. Is a damn shame her career was... Pretty much quiet throughout the 90s until she left this earth. It really robbed a whole new generation of fans who grew up in the 90s and 00s and even today if you ask me

wow, I though I was the only one! I really get it, too..."Oh Billy, Please" is my favorite by Donna, too...so much emotion comes through in her rendition...no one can sing this one the way she did...it's ironic, too that Donna sings about transitioning from this Life and about how much Love God has for us all...and not too soon thereafter, she is called Home. So DEEP. So SPIRITUAL. Yes, GOD is HERE. GOD is LOVE!!

Words cannot express the gratitude in my heart and soul for you posting this video,Donna was truly an angel on earth and has and will continue to deeply impact people around the world as her legacy lives on through her music.This video and song is so special to me and has lifted me out of personal and physical despair and set me back on fire with the Lord. They say people in heaven have no earthly memory, but Donna is singing with and for and praising ADONAI. It is my prayer that all of her devoted fans come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that they will be able to join her in HEAVEN as our soon COMING KING RETURNS FOR HIS BRIDE. What a beautiful tribute and song. Thank you for posting. Now I HAVE to buy this song on eBay. Out of her entire musical library, there is not one song I would skip. This incredibly independent, strong, beautiful (inside and out) woman was such an absolute sweetheart. She had such grace and humility (in spite of her God given talent), unlike so many GREAT egos out there. Of ALL the “stars” out there she was the only one I wish I could’ve met. She “saved” my tormented 13 year old self, and I wish I could’ve thanked her for that. Over five years later, and I still feel a great void from her absence. Thank you again, for reminding me of her infinite greatness.

The spirit lives forever and true love never dies!! Amen.. Praise Jesus. Donna Summer is in a better place. This is not all there is here on this lonely earth. You'll never imagine the love you'll feel in the presents of the Lord. I know I find it hard to cope with my life at times. I have to keep thinking there's something the Lord has for me far better than this place.
