My prom dress was a Betsy Johnson!

I moved to NY in the early 2000's and my friends and I were heading out somewhere and she was on the train at the same time as us. My friends didn't notice and I was too shy to say anything let alone tell her how much I loved her! I was wearing a plaid grey and pink skirt with a sailor moon tee accompanied by a pink fuzzy cardigan that I got from the resale along with a pair of silver glitter mile high platform knee high boots that I found at some charity shop in the Midwest they were too big for me but I stuffed them because I loved them so much. As we were getting off the train she smiled that gorgeous infectious smile at me and said "I love what you're doing keep doing it!" I often went into the store I don't recall the exact location but, I remember getting off at 72 and walking down 10 blocks or so on the upper east side to window shop at the time i was so dirt poor and couldn't afford even the most modest accessories but, I always left so cheered up and inspired. Towards the end of my stay in NY a friend ended up gifting me her small collection of Betsey Johnson pieces and there were the most gorgeous pair of moss green lacey bell-bottoms that I still have to this day!( can't fit them anymore lol. ) My favorite of the things was a makeup travel case that I used as a purse oh God it went everywhere with me it eventually fell apart as I was often carrying it through the rain in rural Ireland it was mint green with pink roses and had gold handles with delicate tiny gold studs. I've searched for years online to find someone who had that particular piece. Love you beautiful Betsey XOXO 💋

I love what you said about your clothes having a story ! I told my story on one of your other videos, but I’ll say it again : two pairs of high waisted, bell bottom, cords- one red and the other navy worn with my long sleeved white cotton T-shirts. It was 1970 and I couldn’t afford fashionable, cool outfits. Betsy Johnson clothing made it possible !
