The vast majority of statuary rape and sexual assault laws are for lack of a better description blatantly biased when it comes to women. For instance in most states if both participant's are under 18 and within 5 years its always the males fault. There was also a highschool teacher a few years back who sexual assaulted/raped one of her students. The male student who was raped was treated like the perpetrator throughout the entire thing, portrayed extremely negatively by the press as well as being expelled from the school after the issued a public statement saying that they firmly felt the student was the primary perpetrator in the case and was primarily responsible for the case. On top of this his identity was released in a meter of hours and most media outlets made next to no attempts to maintain his identity. Not to mention he also received a large number of lawsuits because of this incident, the vast majority of them once again portraying him as the guilty party. The school teacher herself was sentenced to 7 years in prison and released 2 years in on bail.
