In this video we're going over how to land at a busy bravo airport WITHOUT getting yelled at. Bravo airspace is considered the busiest airspace with the big fast jets. Not to mention the fastest talking air traffic controllers around. Even I missed what ATC said in a few calls. Thanks for stepping in Joe.
Speaking of Joe, this flight couldn't have been possible without our friend Joe Coraggio of Ramp Rat Racing. In one flight we touched Class D, C, B, A, and G airspace in his BEAUTIFUL Lancair Legacy which was still setup for the Reno Air Races! Make sure to check him out over on Instagram and give him a follow! - / rampratracing

Great video! Awesome plane. When I stopped short of getting my IR I was taught CRAFT for clearances. Clearance (cleared to) Route Altitude Frequency Transponder. Just as you laid out. Easier to write when you know what is coming. Fun video to watch!

The only thing to fear at a Bravo airport are ridiculous ramp and FBO charges. As long as you've looked at the airport diagram ahead of time and keep it out while on the ground, its not any different than being at a Class D.

Backseat pilot here. Don't you hate it :) 5:11 isn't an actual clearance but you read it back like it was. I've been taught since it's purely an advisory respond with callsign only or at least prefix with the expect

I flew into Phoenix class B airspace twice as a student pilot last two weeks. My CFI needed to go to AeroGuard to pick up equipment at DVT. Just flying by the PHX, not landing. What a nightmare! So easy! prone to no error due to all information provided by so many different frequencies and different controllers. You did it with a friend and I did it with my CFI. Alone it is way! better! So pleasant! 😅😂😅😂 I was flying the aircraft maintaining altitude and changing the squak when called to. That was all I was doing and listening to the radio. This is a great activity for masochists, or the "smart" people. I saw you struggling to speak on the radio and you have more flying hours than I do. Imagine flying alone! What a dream! 😂😅😂😅😂 No! thank you! I have no reason to do that whatsoever. It's a nonsense and dangerous. I just got my PPL and intend to never go back again into this air trap. I am still thinking about the whole nonsense that it is to fly in the U.S. with all the confusing, contradictory and overwhelmingly load of info that pilots have to deal with. We see people killing themselves all the time and NOBODY even say anything about what I just said. NONSENSE. Flying in the U.S is a HUGE NONSENSE. The FAA has the guts to say it's for safety. Really? "multitasking" requirements to "safely" flying? This is an issue to start debating and discussing for the safety of aviation. Looks like you like to teach about aviation. This is a great subject for you. As for me, I am still trying to find a way to fly around here in ways to avoid the NONSENSE. Thanks for the information and Congratulations for the bravery of doing so and sharing. It gave me one more reason NOT to go into class B. Can't wait to retire and go to a place that has no "controlled" airspaces.

Personally, having flown under/around the phoenix bravo, and done the transition some dozens of times, I find flying the transition under positive control to be FAR safer way to traverse the area from north to south and vice/versa. To each their own, but I think flying through bravo is no big deal and is something every pilot should keep in their bag of tricks. It's also really fun!

Hello I'm a student pilot but I fly on uncontroled fields mostly. Could you do a video on what all the Yellow Lines mean and what you should do and say to cross them. I know I should know this but I dont have many of them where I usualy fly.

Hi, I'm planning on getting a ppl soon. Quick question, do I need to bring an iPad with an app that displays the airspaces around me or sectionals if I'm flying in VFR?
@flywiththeguys
@flywiththeguys 17 күн бұрын
Nope. It all seems intimidating now, but it's a lit easier than you think. When you learn to fly you'll learn on paper charts anyways. I picked up the iPad towards the tail end of my training. It simplifies the workload on the ground and in the air. Great tool to have, but not needed.

NICE! BTW, they'll tell you no. You'll have to do a landing and take off like we did. Sometimes they'll even deny you a taxi back. It's all business at bravo airports. Plus there are the FBO fees. We talked to Cutter before hand and asked them if they would wave ours if we mentioned them in the video. They were nice enough to do so, thus the shout out.
