i'm sure you've been told already but allow me as a token pedant (look it up if you don't know what it means) and highlight your little error, eger is spelt eager, did i sound enough like an ar**hole? good, i aim to please. i'm speaking as a 60yr old man who has kids who were growing up during the original version of the group and they never once paid any notice to them, the fact i'd been playing them the ramones and tom petty from birth might have influenced their musical ear? during the first incarnation of the group gary wrote some good songs but it's only since the reformation that his standards have risen so high that he is undoubtedly the greatest british songwriter since Paul McCartney and thats not an opinion i give lightly. just take this song for example, the tune, the melody, the lyrics, the production? all of the highest calibre, i know the others have pitched in over recent years but i can still recognise his hand instantly. i sound like a big gary barllow fan but i'm not, as my daughter correctly guessed, her gay dad is more into howard.
