I have been an infant teacher in day care centers for 33 years. People think all we do is sit and hold the babies all day long. We have so much to do that I can't see many people doing our job. We have observation papers to do for every child twice sometimes three times a year. Classes that we are constantly taking, lesson plans. We don't interact with the babies as much as we would like anymore. Its hard work and we all feel burned out.

Don’t believe the hype. Yes everyone is adorable 😍. However lifting 20 pound babies maybe 6-8 of them all day for months if not years destroys the body. The pay sucks. Co workers can be catty as it’s usually all ladies. Long hours and terrible pay. The families are literally the best part of the job.
@tiffanyjohnson16764 жыл бұрын
Not to mention the centers are usually concerned about money over children so expect kids to be let in with pink eye, strep, hand foot and mouth disease etc on the reg. So frustrating..
@emmajoy45113 жыл бұрын
@@tiffanyjohnson1676 that sounds so bad....luckily where I work we are pretty steady about money and we care more about the children. In my opinion that place that you worked at or that you are talking about should go out if business...clearly they aren't ready to be handling children in a safe environment

@@AliciaGonzalez-pk3mw Incorrect. Infants need both in a nuclear family.
@tootynuggets9 ай бұрын
@AliciaGonzalez-pk3mw Scientifically, you are only grasping a portion of the picture. There is a deeper dynamic involved. Fathers and infants can be equally as attached as mothers and infants. When both parents are involved with the child, infants are attached to both parents from the beginning of life. Father involvement is related to positive child health outcomes in infants, such as improved weight gain in preterm infants and improved breastfeeding rates.Fathers occupy a critical role in child development. Father absence hinders development from early infancy through childhood and into adulthood. The psychological harm of father absence experienced during childhood persists throughout the life course. On the side of the direct need between father and infant, the baby is affected by proxy when a mother and father have a healthy relationship. The infant needs the mother to have a supportive father in order for the mother to provide adequate emotional and physical care. Have mothers done it without fathers? Yes, for many reasons. But the strongest family dynamic happens when both are healthily present.

@AliciaGonzalez-pk3mw I kept my boy home until he was 1. I found that daycare didn't start to get tolerable until they get into the 2s rooms and onward. It's rare to find happy staff with low turnover below the 2s rooms. And the kids are rarely happy. We took him out and put him into a smaller school not long after until he turned 2 and then he switched to a newer place with amazing education for his age group. His teacher is a keeper and I'll be sad when he changes rooms 😞
