Reflation most often used synonymously with “inflation” by people who wish to dissimulate or misdirect or present an amazingly incomplete picture. If used in this way, it is in order to avoid the word inflation and is directed to an economically illiterate audience: you can be almost sure that you are being invited to participate in some kind of collective wishful thinking.
