A local catering company contacted me and asked if i was interested in a heap of aluminum food trays, so i said definitely yes. Some off them were pretty dirty with small bits of meat, gravy and soup in them but that would all just turn to ash in the furnace and would easily be skimmed off . So today I make an awesome Mirrored Aluminum Bar from these old used food trays . I also melt down some copper offcuts as 1 bar was just not enough. Now sit back and relax and enjoy todays 2 melts and have a great weekend.
Feel like supporting the channel Simply donate some of your time just by allowing the ads to play through this will help out a lot and that’s how I make a bit extra revenue and the good thing is more revenue means more giveaways👊🏻😄. A better way to support the channel is play one of my playlists on your computer before you walk away from it and let it play through that really helps as well but don’t ever feel as though you need to watch the ads if you don’t want to simply skip them and move into the video it’s completely up to you and I understand if you don’t have the time to do so👌🏻and like I always say if you like the rings shown and used in this video be sure to check out the description where you can get 20% off the already discounted rings using my code and if you want to try your hand at melting yourself you can buy the burner on its own or the whole furnace set up and I can organize a 5% link for you off the total furnace price just email me on bigstackddddd@mail.com 😁👍🏻.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

all the trash in the world for the next *1000* years could be dumped in a *200* square mile landfill somewhere in the desert. the earth has *57,000,000* square mile of land. so in conclusion all of the earths trash for the next *1000* years could be stored in *.0003%* of the earths surface. so if what i claim is true, would you agree with me that recycling is a BIG waste of time, energy and money that achieves almost nothing in the grand scheme of things?

The only thing is depending on company (MPM, detpak, marinucci, confoil) they might talk to big stack but I don't believe they will. Trust me after working along side them for this long it's hard enough to get faulty items replaced let alone just getting foil out of landfill. Maybe if he works alongside his regional/state council and says you put it aside for me and help with some gas bills perhaps, even then..

Molten aluminum "is" red not because of a property of aluminum (like instead being shiny at room temperature) but because it is hot. That's called blackbody radiation. Basically a hot body emits light accordingly to its temperature. Starting from infrared (that's how your thermometer works btw) then to red, orange, white and blue. You can warm up all your metals at the same temperature and they will have the same color.

@SkunkApe407
@SkunkApe407 3 жыл бұрын
@@MathewZ788 nope. Iron rebar is added to the concrete foundation to dampen tension and load. Iron rebar is added to the walls for the same reason, but only in concrete or brick construction. Wood frame houses have Iron rebar in the foundation, but none in the walls. The iron rebar doesn't actually make up any part of the actual structure. It's basically the same thing as adding rocks and aggregate to strengthen concrete.
@MathewZ788

@@SkunkApe407 Where I stay our houses have an iron or copper base and act as earthing as well. Our house's concrete is poured onto these bars for more tensile strength. Maybe its different where you live perhaps?
@SkunkApe407
@SkunkApe407 3 жыл бұрын
@@MathewZ788 as an Engineer and Surveyor, I can guarantee that your house is not framed with steel or copper. A concrete block home is built on a foundation. That foundation is either a monolithic stem wall or a footer. The walls are then set, block by block, and rebar is lowerd into the "frogs" and tied with bailing wire to the rebar studs protruding from the foundation. Those bars are then supported by "back-filling", or pouring concrete into the "frogs", or hollows, in the blocks. The bars only serve to add support to the concrete block framing, and are not the frame itself. It isn't my intention to come across as a pompous jackwad, but I've spent well over two decades of my life studying and practicing in this field. Architecture follows the same principles, regardless of locale. Again, it isn't my intention to come across as "superior", or as some "know-it-all". This just happens to be my area of expertise. I'd be happy to discuss this subject in length, but I suspect that it would bore you and everyone else to tears. I'm quite aware that Civil Engineering and Geomatics aren't exactly the most interesting topics. There's a reason my field is seeing a decline in "new blood".
