TAKENGON - Gayo HORSE Racing, COFFEE, Mie Aceh & Putri Pukes (Central Aceh)

Күн бұрынIn today's episode I go deep into the Gayo Horse Racing, learn about Sumatran Coffee and cooking Mie Aceh cooking in Takengon, Central Aceh. Starting off from Blangkejeren through the Sumatran Mountains, I reach the magnificent Lake Laut Tawar in Takengon.
I stay at Fairuz Hotel from where I explore the city of Takengon and meet a lot of friendly Acehnese people. I head to Mila Sari 2 to see how the cook the famous dish, Mie Aceh (Aceh Noodles).
I then visit KBQ Baburrayan to get insight into the Aceh coffee production, who provides for Starbucks Seattle. I visit the Takengon Horse Arena (Arena Pacuan Kuda) where I talk to an Indonesian Jockey about the famous Takengon Horse Racing Events.
Finally I visit the Cave of Princess Pukes (Goa Putri Pukes) and learn about the Legend that made up Lake Laut Tawar.

Dari medan via kutacane atau Barus Sibolga, medan Langsa, terserah pake motorpun jadi InsyaAllah aman, no begal, no premanisme, only hati2 sama rombongan gajah liar dan macan Sumatra🤣 yg via Sibolga dan Kutacane, kalo via Langsa aman 24 jam.

@@adirenaldy Mereka khawatir kalo Aceh jadi lebih maju, ntar ngak ada lagi yang mau susah2 kesana buat belanja atau sekedar jalan2 ke mall doang. Saya pernah bawa temen2 bule dari Eropa ke Aceh dan Medan, malah mereka lebih suka enjoy di pedesaan Aceh dan Sabang. Katanya lebih adem suasan alam dan masyarakatnya. Mereka justru takut main ke Medan, katanya temennya pernah dirampok di sana sebelum pandemi. Ngomong gini kesannya jadi rasis sih. Tapi kan kita harus buka mata dan persepsi semua orang tentang Aceh selama ini tidak seperti yang mereka pikirkan. Emang sih semua daerah itu ada plus-minusnya. Tapi jangan dijelek2in kan bang ya...

Hey Kris, if you're in Kalimantan Timur i have some recommended place for you to visit: 1. Bukit Bingkirai: beautiful forest 2. Gua Losan: stone will produce unique sound when hit 3. Liang Mangkulangit: a levitating rock mountain 4. Jantur Inar: one of the most beautiful waterfall i've seen 5. Pulau Beras Basah: beautiful beach 6. Pulau Kakaban: swimming with jellyfish lol 7. Danau Labuan Cermin: mirror-like lake 8. Gua Haji Mangku: cave with bautiful lake 9. Goa Batu Gelap: was used to held party after harvest season 10. Taman Nasional Kutai: has largest and oldest ironwood tree in the world 11. Desa Pampang: dayak village Just a reminder, some of this destination has quite remote access like for Liang Mangkulangit.

Hampir semua jalan lintas di aceh bagus licin cin cin, bikin orang medan suka liburan ke aceh. Kalau long weekend, tempat wisata di aceh, banda aceh sabang takengon, banyak didatangi wisatawan dari medan. HAMPIR YA GAK SEMUA.

Another awesome video filled with adventure and teaching us new things about Indonesia. To shoot this quality of footage and edit it into an enjoyable and captivating story is hard work and we definitely appreciate all your efforts. This professional quality production. It's always great to see the friendly and welcoming nature of the Indonesian people. Indonesian hospitality is second to none. So interesting to learn about the coffee, how it's grown, picked, processed and packaged for both International and domestic sales. I continue to learn new things from all of your videos. Glad you survived that bout of belly troubles and thanks for highlighting my question. I've had some stomach issues in Indonesia as well but at least I had my wife with me. It's so awesome to see the hotel staff looking out for you. I can't imagine that would ever happen at a US hotel. Keep up the great work! Hopefully one day we can enjoy that Indonesian coffee together. Cheers!!

To be fair its decently good to keep a small box of tolak angin or antangin on your bag. The taste might be bit spicy because of the ginger but it helpful enough to kick away 'masuk angin' symptoms due to long trip such as upset belly and bloated stomach.

Indonesian First Aid Kit: minyak tawon (for bruises, light cuts, insect bites), minyak sereh (natural mosquito repellent), minyak kayu putih (stomachache, chest rub for nasal congestant), Panadol Blue (paracetamol for fever), Panadol Green (flu), Tolak Angin, bandaid, betadine.

Last week I just came home after completing a 3 week trip from Jakarta by car, and I stayed long enough in Takengon because it really made me feel at home. The scenery is beautiful, the air is very cool and makes you want to stay there for a long time. Too bad I can't see the Horse Racing event which will start again soon. And don't forget that in October there will be an International Road Bike event around Lake Lut Tawar.

Sumatra Roadtrip was me and my husband dream, He passed away 2 weeks ago. Thanks for the videoa, it’s crazy how you take a video from your drone while you’re riding and sometime you left your camera behind you while you’re riding, I can imagine what a hard work to do. I wish one day when my son grows up I can go with him, my son is 22 months old, he loves travelling.

Oh my, this is where I was born and still live at, who knows seeing the road and places i crossed daily in a different point of view would be this strangely amazing. Dinar and her husband are running noodle shop as well I am a regular costumer 😆. ahh my dad's hometown, glad the people there welcome you warmly, when I go there I always like to ride a motorbike around the lake to just enjoy the beautiful nature, good and interesting video stories about how you show the city of takegon not only through coffee and nature but also about how friendly the people are, can't wait for the next story

I miss Takengon, been there a long time ago. The people there don't really look at ethnicity, even the head of the Datu Beru Hospital at that time was a Chinese.
